Top Notes Die Cut Book

I was SO inspired by this idea from Lisa Somerville (here), that I had to try it:  a Top Notes Die Cut book!  Simply die cut all your Top Notes with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot, crop off about 1/2" from one side (with a paper cutter), then punch and bind them with your Bind It All!

{{Edited to add:  I've had several questions about the Bind It All.. if you click HERE for one of my previous posts about the Bind It All, it will give you more info.  If you are thinking of buying one, I'd highly recommend Bonnie at www.BonniesBest.com  She is great to work with and has a great assortment of the wires as well as the machine. You can see all my Bind It All projects HERE.}}

Wow… the Big Shot and the Bind it All in one project… how heavenly! 🙂

Books

I also die cut the white chipboard that comes in the back of the packs of Stampin' Up! designer paper and adhered (with Snail) a piece of Designer Paper to the front and back of each piece of chipboard for the front and back covers of the books.  The inside page of the book is 2 top note DSP die cuts snailed back to back.  (Lisa used cardstock for her inside pages, this would work just as well).

Here is a look at some of the inside pages:

Pg 2 a

Have you guessed which Stampin' Up! Designer Paper this is?  It's my new favorite.. it's in the Celebrando Creatividad catalog (the Spanish version of our catalog) and the package is called Juntos.  You can view the catalog HERE, or I have a few of them if you'd like one. There are stamp sets in the Spanish version catalog that are not in the regular catalog either!  If you'd like to order a pack of Juntos (GREAT for fall projects) please let me know! It's $9.95 just like our other DSP.

ALSO.. be sure to check out Jenn's ADORABLE version of this type of book HERE! Too Cute!

And just so you can laugh along with me… (not AT me)… have you ever tried to fix a mistake and you made it worse…  maybe like THIS!!!!!!

Yuck

That's what happened to one of my books when I put it in the Bind It All and didn't do it right.. ugh.. the book was ALL DECORATED, too!  :(  So.. then I made 2 more books and decided to punch them BEFORE I did all the stamping and embellshing.. smart cookie, huh? 🙂

More details on this project in a day or 2 .. have a great day!

  4. Hi Patty,
I must quit my job, find a housekeeper, and someone to care for my kids so that I have time to make all the projects you do.
Thanks for sharing all your projects. They do inspire me. So sorry about your mishap. I can totally relate. Several times when I am at the end of a project adding the finishing touch, I do something and MESS it up bad. It is not at all fun to redo the project. Then my brain keeps telling me how much paper and time I have just wasted. Where is the off switch to the brain at that moment.
    Have a great weekend.
    Blessings, Diane Beckman

  5. Patty…Love it! Luv U for showing your little blunder. Isn’t it funny how we all assume that everyone else is a “perfect” stamper & never make mistakes?? If they could only see the trash can!! Thanks…Erin

  6. Hi Patty, I love your work. I get my Big Shot stuff today. Of course I am on pins and needles. I am glad my name is five letters for the banner. One question? Where did you get the red ribbon with one white stipe dowm the middle? I keep looking but can’t find it. Thanks Laura

  7. omigosh, Patty….I was laughing (with you, not at you!) about punching the BIA holes and messing up. I can totally relate to that!!! I love this little book and remember when Lisa Somerville did one of those and shared it…sure miss all of her cool SU projects! I did a similar book with a thin sheet of clear acrylic and it turned out so cute…but I love how you made yours into a beautiful birthday card, may have to copy that for my Dad’s upcoming b-day (he’s just a youngster coming up on 88) and my FIL will be turning 80 in April so that would be an awesome idea for him, too. NEVER thought to turn it into a birthday card….how clever! Jan
