THE PURSE!!

Thank you to all of you for your excitement yesterday about the fabric for my purse!!!  I had the BEST time at Cindee's class… thank you Cindee for being a delightful hostess and teacher!!!

HERE IS THE PURSE!!  OK>>> ME and the purse! 🙂

I was really daring for my first attempt and added POCKETS to the sides:

and I made a matching flower to go on it:

This fabric is heavier weight cotton than most of the fabric people have been using for these purses… it is also dry clean only… I had not planned to wash this purse like most people are doing.  This won't have quite the same "shabby chic" look as most of the scallop die purses.. but that's what I wanted.. so I'm really happy with it.

The purse uses the Scallop Square Die and the Big Shot.  I was easily able to cut 6 layers of this heavy cotton at once with the die.. it makes the project go so quickly!

I'll be posting some step by step pix tomorrow and then photos of the other purses from class later this week.. please stay tuned all week !!

  2. That turned out fantastically, and you added pockets too. I love the flower, what a great touch. Now you’ll have people commenting on your purse and you’ll be able to sell them the Big Shot and Die! What a deal. Way to go. I used to quilt big time, but have had back surgery go bad, and haven’t quilted in over 1 1/2 years or sewn anything for that matter. I started stamping for lack of something to do, and it was easy on my back. I would love to be able to make one of those purses. Maybe I will just have to settle for buying one. lol. Those who can, do, and those who can’t pay the price! Again, wonderful job, you can wear it proudly. hee, hee.

  3. Your purse turned out pretty, Patty. I love it. I didn’t put a pocket on mine and am really regretting it. I may have to add one so my cell is easily accessible.

  4. Oh, how fun! That’s a fabulous purse and I really like the fabric that you chose for it. It looks so chic! I wish I got along with sewing machines so that I could make one, too…. 🙂 Thanks for sharing the pics with us.
