Patty’s Stampin’ Loft “REDO” – part 1

As part of my 50th birthday gift from last year, I finally reorganized part of my Stampin' Loft with some Elfa brand carts/drawers and man AM I LOVIN' IT!!  (I waited for the 30% off sale!)  I love having everything at my fingertips…. granted, I wish I had a larger space.. mine is only 8'x8', but, on the other hand.. I do love that I can swivel in my chair and reach everything 🙂 (yes, I'm trying to make myself feel better about the fact that my space is tiny).

Here is the result – a partial view of my Stampin' Loft… I'll be sharing lots more finished photos with you over the coming week..

BELOW is a "before view" .. i have had these 2 oak cabinets in here since we moved here 13 years ago… I found that everything "behind closed doors" never got used… I needed things to be more visible and organized in drawers..

And same view AFTER:

It may not look like a huge change.. but my FLOOR IS CLEAN.. HELLO! 🙂 and I know where everything is now.. so i'm a happy camper!

Here is a look at what is IN my Elfa cart drawers:

  1. I know what a GREAT feeling getting everything organized is!!! I have elfa drawers in my space, too. At first I just bought one to roll in and out of my closet–where I had installed elfa shelves pre-stampin’ for storage. I found the heavy drawers were best for my punches. Then, the wheels fell off from pulling the heavy cart in and out of the closet–so when the next sale came around, I bought a second set of drawers for storing punches beside my desk and new wheels for my rolling cart. Love them! My question now is how to keep my stamp sets in order–is it even possible!– and a better way to store my Big Shot dies. So I look forward to see your Big Shot area soon!

  2. Thanks for sharing! I’ve always wondered about your space. I need to get re-organized. My space is a combo craft area/toy area and it gets a little crazy!

  3. Love the drawers! Where did you find them? If you think your space is small, try having a walkin closet for you stamping room! That is what I am using now in our small 2 bedroom apt. I am at least happy to have all my stamping stuff in one spot and a space to call my own! The drawers might help me too!

  4. Hi Patty!
I love to look at how others organize their craft area. I always find something that I can do to make mine better. A lot of your organization is similar to mine, but there was one great idea I didn’t see until I blew up the picture: You “hang” your heating tool!! I never thought of that, and I have the perfect spot right where I just have them “laying” on my work station. Hanging them will free up this space. I sure I will find other little tidbits after studying your picture — can’t wait to see more!!

  7. Looks great, I just cleaned and reorganized my loft too!!! I can’t wait to see how you have your stamp sets organized. With so many different sizes I’m trying to find the most efficient way.

  8. Love your loft Patty. I just took over the guest room. It doesn’t look as organized as your space though. I keep changing it around as I go. I’ve never heard of those Elfa drawers, but they sure look nice. I have plastic drawers, but they are so hard to open and close. Where do you get Elfa drawers? Can’t wait to see the rest!!

  9. Thanks for sharing your space. It’s amazing what you’ve done with it. I also have a very small studio (8×9) to work in. Since I’m renting & the walls are lathe & plaster, I really can’t put shelves up. I also have the problem of 2 old doors that take away from my space. I have yet to find room to put in a “cutting station” & have recently taken over the hallway in order to have one. Maybe down the road I’ll figure out how to have it all in one space. TFS!

  10. Hi, Patty! The ELFA are the best! I had mine installed 3 years ago and they still look brand new!! I would recommend that to everybody who are trying to organize there craft room! OMG, they’re the best investment ever. I didn’t mind buying them in whole price because they do really serve its purpose! So easy to install and so easy to move around if you move to another room or place. Great share and great choice, Patty! Fantastic Room!!!

  11. I guess this goes to show “It’s not the size of the space that matters” What you put out in your 8 x 8 space is just amazing! I’ll have to look at the storage idea you just gave us! Thanks for sharing!
