What do you do with 20 Years of Stampin’ Up! pins?

More Celebrating…

20 years with Stampin' Up!, More Blog Candy Prizes, and a fun cork board project for you today!

20-year-anniversary-stampin-up-pattystamps-convention-pins

So I had this "bright idea"…. gather all my pins from Stampin' Up! events and achievements from the past 20 years, and display them on a cork board… I thought.. easy peasy.. spell out 20 and display it… BUT… when I started to lay out all the pins I quickly realized there were WAY more pins than I would need… so… I just filled in the 0 :)  hee hee..

I'm missing all of my pins from the year 2011 (have NO idea where they are)… when I find them, and get my pins at the Stampin' Up! convention this summer for 2015, I'll have to figure something else out for all of those pins!  Any suggestions?

The frame is a very light-weight wood frame from Michaels and I spray painted just the perimeter with some black spray paint I already had, then I cut down the cork sheets and glued them to the wood – thank you for everyone on Facebook who suggested the E6000 glue.. it worked perfectly!

OK, Now on to the Blog Candy Prize!!!

If you'd like to win this selection of 5 packs of retired In Color Cardstock, my gently used 5 retired In Color Markers and 3 retired DSP stacks, LEAVE ME A COMMENT and tell me your favorite In Color of all time AND how long you have been following my blog… There is no wrong answer, but I've only been blogging for 8 years… so hopefully you won't say 20 years 🙂

  1. Great way to display your pins. As I started looking back at previous in colors it is interesting to see how many have become part of a color group. My all time fave are pacific point and crisp cantaloupe. I have been following your blog for about four years. Thanks for all your time you put into blogging.

  23. I love the idea with your pins, I do have one suggestion, though. I think that if you spray painted the corkboard black as well, you would be able to see the pins much better. As for in colors, I really love strawberry slush and coastal cabana, also really loved gumball green. I really hated to see them all go!

  24. Hi Patty! You should make a double row out of the 2 with the extra pins – or you can attach lengths of ribbon and add pins along the bottom of the frame. My all time favorite color has to be coastal cabana, before that it was certainly celery for a long time. I’ve been following your blog since the early days (late 2007) and remember all the flowers you had cut out for your convention swaps in 2008. Congrats again on the milestone! How fun to see all the pins from over the years.

  25. Hi, Patty. I’m not commenting for blog candy, I just have a suggestion for your pins (I love your idea BTW). When you find the lost ones and get your new ones from convention, just square off your numbers. That should use them up and keep your 20 intact. Then you’ll have to start a new corkboard for 21 and beyond!

  26. I love what you did with your cork board. All my Disney pins are on cork boards too, but I did not make it look special like yours. My Office has 7 cork boards of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia.
I am really a blue person, so I would say Brilliant Blue.
I have been following you since 4/4/14 – have enjoyed every minute of it.

I have tried many of your techniques that you have shared and I get quite a bit of inspiration from your blog. My favorite In Color is Gumball Green. 84. Wow, look at all those pins! So nice to display them, rather than sticking them away in a drawer. If you sew, you could make a mini quilt with enough squares for all your pins leaving room to grow. Use all solid colors so your pins are the focal point. If you could get fabric colors to closely match cardstock colors that would be cool, or just use black and white checkerboard style.
My favorite in-color was in the first set issued–Cool Caribbean.

  107. Clever idea to display your pins. Now you can work on the next 20 years. My favorite color is probably pumpkin because it will work for fall, for a guy card, and so many other things. But love the Real Red too. But then I could go on and on and on. I really like most of them and have them. I haven’t had a computer for that long, but I’d say I’ve probably watched your blog for 4 or 5 years. Glad I found it. Edna B.

  130. Great idea for displaying your pins. I had to do a little research to see what all of the In Colors were going back to 2006 and since my favorite color is green, I had to choose one of the greens. So, I choose Wild Wasabi which I use a lot. I also tend to like bright colors, so melon mambo and Bermuda bay are right up there in contention. Would love to win the blog candy because I didn’t get the retired cardstock before they were all gone. I only have the variety pack. Congrats again on 20 years!
