I made fun Father's Day Cards for my dad and my hubby using the Stampin' UP! Painter's Palette stamp set!! As some of you know, my daddy is an amazing artist, so I knew he'd love this idea!! I cut out the center of the artist's easel and added photos to the cards!
The card on the left is for my daddy, and on the right for my hubby. Isn't that a cutie photo of our little Jason about 24 years ago!? :) eeks, I could just kiss those little cheeks!!
Below are the stamp images in the Painter's Palette stamp set, and the Layering Square framlelit dies that nicely cut out the center of the easel area. Find the Painter's Palette stamp set on page 119 of the new 2016 Annual Stampin' Up! catalog, and the square framelits in pg 193.

I printed a few photos and then decided which ones to use. I cut them out with the square framlits since it was really easy to see which portion of the photo I wanted to use that way.
BELOW: Isn't that a cute saying: Love you, Papa Bear, day after day, year after year! I combined stamps from 2 sets to create that saying on my punched out banner. I used the Bear Hugs stamp set (pg 107 in the 2016 annual Stampin' UP! catalog) and the In the Meadow stamp set (pg 129 annual catalog).
Make a pocket for a gift card!! just add adhesive around 3 sides of a piece of cardstock or paper and it will create a pocket!
The Happy Father's Day greeting was from my May Paper Pumpkin kit.
My color combo was Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Dapper Denim. Speaking of Curry… go Warriors tonight! 🙂
Below.. this was a photo taken of my daddy and I a week ago .. he had just painted a new painting for me of the Hotel del Coronado.. I love it!! I get to pick it up in August when I am there again!!
Below is part of his studio and a few of his paintings.. we are so blessed to have a few dozen of them in our home.. now I just need a bigger home with more walls! 🙂
Happy Father's Day Dad, and to my hubby, Eric!! I am so thankful for both of you!!

Patti, I can sure see where you got your artistic talent. Your dad’s paintings are gorgeous!!! Marty
Good morning Patty, I really love your cards. What a great idea. I would have never thought of that. I love your dads paintings. He does have an amazing talent. My dad started to take painting lessons when he was in his 80’s. I have quite a few hanging in my house. My dad has been in heaven for 12 yrs.now. I really miss him. Have a great day and tell Eric Happy Fathers Day from me… Thanks for sharing.
Oh my goodness, Patty, I LOVE YOURS CARDS!!! They’re “the best!” I will read your post later, I actually hopped on here to find your e-mail address! WONDERFUL CARDS, thanks for sharing, as always! Cheers!
Thank you for sharing you cards and the great pictures of your talented dad. He is such a great painter I enjoy seeing his artwork.
Patty,
Those cards are beautiful. The pictures are such a good idea. I will definitely have to pick up this painters palette stamp set and create my own cards. Happy Father’s Day to your husband and papa.
Hi Patty,
Look at that cute little boy. I could just pinch his cute little cheeks!! Kids just grow up way to fast. I also wanted to tell you how much I enjoy looking at your blog each day. The Father’s Day cards are just the best. What a wonderful idea. Your dad’s paintings are just stunning. So glad you will be able to visit him again soon. Thanks for sharing, and hope you spent a wonderful Father’s Day with those you love.
Best wishes,
Karren
Oh how you will cherish those paintings when his time on earth is no longer. I have quite a few of my Grama’s oils and pastels. She also painted on saw blades, did wood carving and gourd carving. She painted on a milk can, the real deal old fashion antique milk can. We put it on a lazy Susan so you can see all sides of the never ending scene she did on it. I value her art work more than any of the possessions I have, more than money or any trinkets worth stealing etc etc.
They will bring you so much joy and you can pass them down as your kids have kids etc
Just BEAUTIFUL! What a great idea to put the special pictures inside. WOW, great paintings of your dads too! TFS! YOU have one very creative, gifted family Patty!
Hi Patty,
I made your card using the Love and Affection Stamp Set and Affectionately Yours DSP and Butterfly Thinlits. I love the card and using the gold Glimmer paper. I wish Stampin Up had some Copper Glimmer Paper or Copper Foil Paper. That would go well also. I still have some Champagne Glimmer Paper, (discontinued), and it would also look great with this card. Keep up the good work.
