This is a super fun technique featuring ink refill bottles, a piece of felt and the Wild Rose stamp set!!

You can see the live video from this morning HERE on my Facebook Business Page, or watch the video below from Youtube.
I learned this fun technique a year ago and made these cards in May 2019!! I can’t believe it’s taken me a year to share these cards with this amazing technique!
In a nutshell, you create concentric rings of color, using 2, 3 or 4 colors, and create your own ink pad with Stampin’ UP! ink refill bottles and a piece of felt!! If you have thick felt, use one layer. If you have thin felt, you might want to double it up. I found it best to put the felt into an empty Stampin’ Up! clear mount case. TIP: write the colors you used on a Post-it note and stick it to the outside of the case for future reference.
Once you have the rings of color inked on the felt, ink your stamp, and stamp onto cardstock! Oh my goodness.. . look at the beautiful variations of color you get with this technique!
The color combination possibilities are endless… use your imagination and create any beautiful flower you wish! For more color combo ideas, see my Pinterest board here.
I created these cards 11 months ago, and yes, I know Purple Posy isn’t available any more, and I’m sorry about that, but you can still create this beautiful look without it.. just add a little extra Seaside Spray and some Highland Heather.
I found that the 2019-2021 In Color ribbon was a great addition to these cards. I tied it around the Whisper White cardstock and then added some linen thread with a bow on each card.
The outline image from the Wild Rose set is stamped in a darker ink color on each card. I really like how it ties the colors together and makes the image POP!

Good morning a Patty,
I absolutely love your cards and I want to try that this weekend…..Your cards are beautiful……Thank you for sharing and have a great day
I was soooo excited to see that you made a video. I REALLY wish that you would make more videos showing all of the wonderful tips and techniques that you share. I love videos and the fact that I can watch them over and over and that I can stop them midstream if need be. Thanks again for sharing. I love all of your inspiration. Hugs
Thanks Debi!! I am so glad you enjoyed the idea and the video!! I do wish I had more hours in the day to make more videos. I work over 60 hours a week to support all of my Stampin’ Up! team members and customers, and maybe someday if I have an assistant it will free up more time for videos more frequently. If you need catalogs or any assistance let me know.
Hi Patty,
I love this idea!! These came out so beautiful and I can’t wait to try as soon as I find some felt! 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
Hope you’ve had a chance to try it out! Hope you had fun!
With a baby wipe you often put dots and the color spreads into each other. I am guessing there is less spreading with the felt so you get some areas white, some areas indiv color, and some areas with mixed color to create this interesting effect. Love it!
Yes, exactly.. i think we were chatting about that on the video. Even after a year, these “felt pads” stayed perfect!! That would not happen with a baby wipe.
Hi Patty! Your cards turned out beautiful. I can’t wait to try this technique! I have a quick question regarding the felt pads. Did you use anything to stick them to the inside of the clear case? I was just wondering if you stored them upright what would keep them from falling to the bottom of the case? Or did you store yours flat? Thanks, in advance, for your help!
Hi Robin, thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed them!! I did not attach them to the case and I stored them flat for the year, and still do. Yes, they would slide down if you stored it vertical. But I just thought of an idea.. you could probably carefully put each felt piece in a sandwich ziplock bag, store them all together in one container until you want to use one again??
That would probably work! Thanks for the idea!
