Once upon a time there was this cool card by Bruno Bertucci… .he called it the Scrappy Strip Technique. It was so cool that it went viral and everyone was making Scrappy Strip Cards….. but I resisted… until last week 🙂 I created a scrappy strip card in Kurstan’s online class (it’s at the bottom of this post), then, I went on and made several more! They are slightly addicting! 🙂
Watch Bruno’s Scrappy Strip instruction video HERE.

Both cards feature designer paper from these packages: Heartwarming Hugs, Poinsettia Place and ‘Tis the Season. The greeting and bow are in the Gift Wrapped Bundle.
How to Make a Scrappy Strip Card:
- cut designer paper strips larger than your card front, and cut them into random strips, at a slight angle
- use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to glue the strips to your card front piece (mine is 4″x5-1/4″)
- flip card front over and use Paper Snips or paper trimmer to cut excess paper strips off even with the card front
- mount to a folded card and embellish
- you can see Bruno’s video instructions here
Once you start making them, you’ll want to make more!! 🙂
Below, this is the card I created during Kurstan’s class, we used the Heartwarming Hugs designer paper.

Good morning Patty,
I love doing this. I actually made strips with the Tutti Frutti DSP and the Fruit Basket stamp set but I used the same size strips. That was back a good while ago but they made really cute cards.. I really enjoyed doing these. I’m going to have to make some more. I forgot about it till I saw yours. I love your cards.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these! The first card design to excite me for a long time!! :<) A wonderfully colorful card to bring smiles during these difficult times! I am definitely going to make some today and use this style for Christmas and always! LOVE it! Thankyou for sharing! Wishing you well. Take good care and be safe. Sending hugs.
Thanks for sharing! I love your cards.
These are so much fun. Thanks for sharing!
thanks for sharing. going to try some , looks easy and fast.
I have been wanting to try this type of card but hated to goof it up. Well, with a ton of holiday papers I could give it a go and not go wrong especially using the 6×6 inch paper. Of course I have been trying to decide if I really need that bow punch and stamp set. It makes a perfect compliment to this card. But, I also love the other stamp set you used that I have been eyeing! I think I have the courage to try this now. Thanks Patty, looks fun to make!
