If all goes as planned… today will be the day we are doing a card swap on the Alaska Crafting Cruise I am Co-hosting!
We have been looking forward to this cruise for a few years.. it was planned for 2020, then 2021, and you all know what happened then… so NOW we are finally going on this crafting cruise to Alaska!! Kurstan and I are co-hosting this event. We have designed over 2 dozen projects for our crafters to create, and we are also bringing and swapping cards!! I signed up for the Birthday Card Swap and wanted to share my card with you!
I love happy bright colors, and the Stampin’ Up! In Colors fit that bill this year. I used Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends markers to color my Full of Love stamped image. I also used a little bit of Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party blends.
Check out this tip below… it’s one I’ve shared with you before.. make a slit in your image if you need to slip a larger die cut into it! Such a fun look!
So this is what it will look like on the back:
I created 3 different versions of this easy birthday card, each using one of the GREAT In Color Tea Boutique card bases for my cards. My favorite: the Starry Sky plaid card base.
Each image is stamped in Memento black ink on a Scalloped rectangle and colored the same… but they all look great on any of these card bases! Below: Sweet Sorbet base.
Below: Parakeet Party card base from the Tea Boutique card / envelope pack.
Each card is decorated with some Solid Faceted Gems. The birthday greeting is from the Lovely & Lasting set, stamped on a Stylish Shapes banner.

Love that you used the Tea Boutique card bases for your swap~such a great idea. Charming card design overall, too.
Any chance you’ll be able to share your group’s swaps on your blog? No doubt there was some amazing talent on display.
So happy you could finally do the cruise!!
Hope you are having a blast on your cruise! So glad you finally got to go. The cards are beautiful. Using the same colors in different combinations is a great idea, and the card bases and envelopes are the perfect touch.
Patty, Love them, cute set of cards!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, This card, The way you putt in the slit . I have never seen that before. Just love it you are so talented. Diana Lynn
Patty, I’m getting my thoughts together to do a class at my library and this would be the perfect set of cards to use for a small class. I’m a bit rusty so I think this cute card will be easy and fun for me and a class to do. Thanks for all of your great ideas and creations.
