5 Ways to Make Cards with 6×6 DSP – video

Warning… long post with tons of card ideas to help you use your 6×6 designer paper patterns with “scenes”!!  I’ve included instructions for 5 ways to make cards with the Meandering Meadow designer paper and a couple bonus cards with the One Horse Open Sleigh paper!  I hope you’ll have a little time to enjoy the Free Video and Tip Sheet download at the bottom of my post!

Enjoy these 5 different designs!

Card Type 1: Side Fold

Meandering Meadow fun fold card: design ideas for 6x6 Stampin' UP! paper from Patty Bennett. Side Fold card design.

The side fold idea features a 3″ panel on the front with a continuation of the scene on the inside, which lends a little extra fun interest rather than just a 4″x5-1/4″ panel on the front.

Card Type 2: Gate Fold

I’ve taken a typical gate fold card and added 2″ strips of designer paper on the inside as well, to bring a little interest and color to the inside!

Card Type 3: Triptych

A Triptych is simply any photo, scene or painting divided into 3 parts.  This is a really fun way to use a 6″ piece of Meandering Meadow paper simply by cutting it into 2″ strips!

The greetings are from the Courage & Faith stamp set.

In addition to the Meandering Meadow 6×6 paper shown above, the One Horse Open Sleigh paper (below) and the All About Autumn paper are great choices for this type of card… any paper with a scene works great with these 5 designs.  As you can see, I altered the design slightly by switching the two pieces on the inside of the card!

Card Type 4: Top Fold

This top fold design is just the side fold but turned horizontal.. and is another great way to add interest by adding a piece of the scene inside the card.

  9. Thank you for an excellent video with clear instructions on how to create these beautiful cards. I learned so much and enjoyed the way you simplified how to do each one. The PDF with measurements is a treasure! I’ve tried these cards before and struggled and some times just threw out so many attempts so I am glad to have all five types in one place with great instructions. Can’t thank you enough! Now I’m ready to try the fall papers. And am not worried about having to struggle with these.

  10. Patty: You mention in the video that demonstrators can purchase the meandering meadow paper now. I became a demonstrator on the 3rd of Oct. and when I go to purchase the paper on the demonstrators view it just takes me round and round. Any words of wisdom?

  21. I had some 6×6 of this DSP and some others that are similar that were from paper shares, so I really only had one of each. I’ve been trying to use up DSP I have before buying more and these were quick, easy, and turned out lovely. Thanks!
