Do you remember these fun strip cards I shared over a year ago? I loved them and was reminded of this technique recently at our Summer Stampin’ Soiree! I wanted to give them a try with the beautiful blue patterns in the Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Blooms designer paper!
How to Make the Strip Card:
- cut your designer paper patterns (I recommend at least 4 to 5 patterns) at 1/2″ wide by 6″ long
- cut a front panel for your card at 4″ x 5-1/4″
- apply liquid glue or an adhesive sheet to the front panel
- start laying strips on your card at 2 different angles until the front is covered
- when front panel is filled with strips, flip it over and trim excess from the back with scissors or a trimmer
- for a similar idea with wider strips see THIS POST
Mediterranean Blooms designer paper #163284
Above: my 3 panels once trimmed. I love each one of them.. adding the pops of yellow and orange from the citrus images is a fun option to all blue.
Above: I added a deckled rectangle with a note and the die cut word friend to this option and mounted it on a Blueberry Bushel base card. (see this post for more info about popping up the die cut word)
Below: Focusing more on the yellow and orange, I added this panel to a Daffodil Delight base card and die cut the oranges from the designer paper.
Below: a fun birthday version of this card also includes one of the friend die cut images!
