Stampin' Up! is Big on Birthdays! Why? Because we all have one, and we should all be sending birthday cards to our family and friends! In this day and age of "click and like" (that's what I call it) on Facebook, we need to remember that a hand-stamped card in the mail means the world to so many people! I vow to be better at it this year!
Today I am excited to share a set of birthday card ideas with you, featuring the Big on Birthdays stamp set.
You can find this lovely bold birthday stamp set on page 6 in the 2017 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog. I paired it with the fun "Inside the Lines" designer paper, which is one of your choices of a FREE gift with your $50 purchase during Sale a Bration.
I have used several of the Stampin' Up! In Colors on these projects (those are the limited-time colors .. see them HERE). I used Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Cucumber Crush and Emerald Envy from the In Color palette.
ABOVE: although the paper is Whisper White, I used a piece of the 1/4" Very Vanilla satin ribbon on this card.. it is a nice soft contrast to the bold colors.
I created both side-fold cards and top-fold cards, both with 4-1/4" x 11" cardstock, folded in 1/2.
I stamped the images in Archival Black ink on a 4" x 4-1/4" piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, and mounted that to the folded card, then added a strip of the Inside the Lines paper and a coordinating ribbon to each one.
Watch my VIDEO about these cards and Inside the Lines paper HERE!
The card above also features a piece of the white and silver 3/8" metallic ribbon from Sale a Bration. See it on page 11 in the Sale a Bration 2017 brochure or HERE in my video review.
Each card features a strip of the paper called Inside the Lines. It's a FREE selection during Sale a Bration 2017. It's all black and white and you color it in.. or, as you can see at the bottom of this post, you can also leave it black and white. What's your preference?
ABOVE: I left the Inside the Lines paper uncolored on this one.. I just let the Flirty Flamingo cardstock and ribbon do the talking .. I also colored the flowers on the stamped image with Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy markers.
ABOVE: it may be hard to see in the photo but I also added In Color Enamel dots to some of the flower centers.
ABOVE: on this set of cards I left the "Inside the Lines" paper and stamped images uncolored. Just thought I'd see how I liked it.. but, since I like them colored… :) I had to color them in!
You have lots of options when coloring this amazing "Inside the Lines" designer paper from Sale a Bration. I used Stampin' Write markers, the new Stampin' UP! Watercolor Pencils and my Blender Pens. You can also use AquaPainters, spritzers, sponges, or your favorite coloring medium.

So much work went into your colouring of these beauties. You know what? I never thought of stamping them just black and white, and I like the look.
