I used the stamp set that comes in the Soft Sayings card kit, on page 11 of the new 2017 catalog for stamping the background of the "lovely" heart card. Below are the 4 steps I used and the 4 Stampin' Up! colors I stamped with. You'll notice the are all new In Colors! (see more In Color info here)
hmmmm just noticed that Tranquil Tide got omitted from the 3rd photo .. but that's what I used 🙂
I used the Sweet & Sassy heart framelits to "frame" my friend die cut .. you can watch the video in this blog post to see how I did that. I love all the options when layering the Sweet & Sassy heart framelits, Layering Circles, Layering Ovals and Stitched Shape framelits all together with the heart, circle and oval in the Lovely Words thinlits!
I really like the random background that the stamping created… don't you?
I used the "To my dear friend" stamp to add some text to the "lovely" heart.. watch the video above to see exactly how I did that!
The Lovely Heart is die cut with Berry Burst cardstock, and the card base and ribbon are both Lemon Lime Twist. I "framed" the lovely heart with a Sweet & Sassy heart and also cut an additional whisper white Sweet & Sassy heart to go behind the lovely heart. If that's confusing, just watch the video to see the details 🙂
I really like my Hello Friend card!! I used the same to main colors (Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist).. they are so peppy and fresh together!!! I stamped the beautiful flower image from Wood Words (find it on page 159 in the new 2017 catalog) on a diagonal across the 4×4 Whisper White piece, then added the Hello Friend die cut on top. I also used the Stitched Shape framelits on this one.. watch the video above in this post for all those details.
To finish off the card, I die cut a stamped heart (also from the Wood Words set) and added a Glitter enamel dot to the heart. I added a little strip of Lemon Lime Twist paper to the edge of the folded Berry Burst card and then added Berry Burst ribbon. The new In Color ribbon is SUPERB this year!! It feels wonderful and ties knots and bows perfectly!
All of these tips are shown in the video in this blog post, you can see my tips for gluing the die cut using Fine Tip Glue, Silicone craft sheet, and a clear block :)
These Glitter Enamel dots are AMAZING!!! I love them!! So pretty and the perfect touch for any crafting project!

Patty's FREE VIDEO tutorials
Good morning Patty,,,,,, I loved your video and your cards are stunning. I thought the framelits were all one piece. Glad you made this video to clear that up for me. I do have another question. On the smaller cards, what size are they and can they be mailed?????? Ive always questioned mailing small cards….. What size cards can be mailed????/ I have made 3×3 and 4×4 cards but not sure if the post office will take them.I usually put them on a gift…. Thanks Patty for sharing your video… Have a great day,,,,, BYW,,,,, More products added to my list of MUST HAVE,,LOL
great video showing how to use these dies! thanks for sharing 🙂
Great video! Loved making this card with you last week.
All so very cute thank you for the video!
Great tips on using this set. Loved your cards and video. TFS
What a great use of the dies, Lovely Words! I especially love the Lemon Lime Twist on Night of Navy.
Thanks Patty for the video and the tips. Very useful and love the new colors together too.
Thank you so much for demonstration how to use some of the new products. This allows me to look at the new products with a different level of knowledge. There are so many times I see a cute new project and wonder how to make it or see a new product and think, “what do I do with that?” You detail every color and product which is so helpful. I make lists and when the catalog arrives I already have an idea about what to order! Many thanks.
Thanks for being such a loyal, hard worker. I appreciate all that you do.
The cards are beautiful. Thank you for sharing tips and how to make them. Love the video.
Wonderful cards! Thank you for the video. One question – which DSP did you use on the Friend card?
