FIRST OF ALL… I CANNOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS IDEA… I’m the first to admit that I can copy, borrow, and massage ideas with the best of them.. {grin}… but when I saw this idea on MJ’s blog I RAN>>> {yep, RAN!!!} upstairs to my stamp loft to try this!! Oh man.. this is the coolest thing since the combination of peppermint and chocolate!
READY?? Here we go..
We are going to make SCALLOPS the EAAAAAAAAAASY Way!!
(see the row of green scallops?)
and here is my finished sample:
Supplies used:
- Bali Breeze DSP
- Eastern Elegance Rub-0ns
- True Friend, All Holidays and Totally Tabs
- Rose Red, Apricot Appeal and Old Olive ink
- Sponge Dauber
- Build-A-Brad and 1/2" circle punch
I also used the Eastern Elegance Rub-ons in 2 places:
OK… so now… RUN, don’t walk to your stamp room and try this!! It’s too fun!!
If you’ve clicked on MJ’s blog you’ll notice she cut the jumbo circle with Paper Snips rather than punch it.. either way works.. try both and see which you prefer.
Have a happy Stampin’ Weekend!
~ Patty

What an awesome idea. I haven’t had the patience to make those scalloped borders (I’ve only done 1) so now I can do it more often. TFS!
That is a great idea – I did see it on her blog but there were scissors involved, I never thought of doing it this way! I love those rub-ons, too – I may have to have another look at those in the catalog.
You truly are incredible !!! Great tips and gorgeous card…as usual 🙂
Have a great day

P.S. Looked through your blog and added my name to your subscription. Just loved your Christmas in San Francisco shots! Though I live in Pacifica I have not gone downtown to revel in Christmas for a few years. Your pics reminded me what I have been missing and will definitely revel in all the glory of San Francisco at Christmas time next year! Thank you so much……

This is awesome Patty – thanks for sharing! I love learning new ways to use your punches! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
OK, I admit it. I am a bit dense. Did you cut the scalloped circle in more than one place to get it to lie flat? Yours looks so continuous and smooth while mine curls when I try to flatten it. Maybe I’m not quite getting it because it is past midnight…trying to find an excuse…but I luv your card!
Your card is adorable Patty. Glad you like the technique:)
Have a wonderful day.
Great tip Patty! Thank you, I’m going to try this today for sure!
Hugs,
Joani
