Bamboo Skewer Spine book with photos of my Mom

In January, we made these Bamboo Skewer Spine books in class.  I knew I wanted to use one of them to make a book with photos of my mom as a young girl.  Do you remember THIS MESS I had to sort through??  Old family photos and memorabilia?? Well.. I thought even though it was now nicely sorted, it wasn’t doing much good in boxes, so I went through 2 boxes and color copied several dozen photos to put into a book.  I made one for my brother, too.  It’s really nice to remember my mom this way.. it will be a comfort to me to look at whenever I need a "lift".  This book covers photos from her birth (1929) to her wedding day (1955).  Enjoy!

I used the Tie the Knot Simply Scrappin’ kit for this project, with a few rub-ons added.

Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!  GO STAMP! 🙂

  1. Oh Patty – What a beautiful book you created. It will be something to cherish forever.
I have to say – you look like your mom. By the photo on your blog and your moms early years I see a lot of you in her.
Thanks so much for sharing such a personal album.

  2. Another beautiful and loving tribute for your mom, she must be sitting on a cloud somewhere grinning from ear to ear. Your brother, I’m sure, will treasure the book you made for him. Yep, family is what it’s all about. Thank you for sharing something so personal and dear to your heart. ej >^..^<
