GLITTER!! Oh My!

OK.. I THOUGHT I could do it… I’ve been getting up the "courage" to work with the Sticky Letters and Glitter ever since SHANNON gave me grief at the Oakland Regional for not using them in my stamping life (I am so NOT a Glitter Queen) … last night I thought my friend Sharon had talked me into using the sticky letters and glitter for my meeting swap cards this Saturday… I sat down with GOOD INTENTIONS to make swaps using glitter… here is what I came up with:

While I love the card, I’m also SUCH A WHIMP when it comes to GLITTER.. I just cannot deal with it.. and I will be on the floor under my stamp desk in a curled up ball if I have to make 40+ cards with glitter… so… unless someone wants to come over and MAKE these FOR ME today, I’m coming up with a different design for my swaps WITHOUT glitter!!  LOL

I know, I know.. what a whimp.. oh well!

SUPPLIES: Colors: Eggplant Envy and Always Artichoke.  Gitter and sticky letters from pg 186 of the catalog. White rub-ons from the Occasions mini. Stamps from Boho Backgrounds, pg 109.  Punches: Scallop circle and Boho Blossoms punch.  All supplies Stampin’ Up!

  2. Patty, I am right there with you. You are brave. You ordered them at least. Neither the new glitter nor the sticky letters entered my house yet! Ask Jenn, she laughs about my glitter aversion.
Your card is beautiful though. Congrats on making this sparkly card and conquering your fear!
    Hugs and grins

  3. But you’re such a nice whimp!!! (big smiley face!) Good for you, Patty! Not only did your confront your “glitter phobia”, you made a strikingly beautiful card! Way to go! I LOVE glitter, and the stickey letters and chuncky glitter are on my wish list. I’m like a crow, anything shiney and glittery catches my attention immediately!

  4. Patty!
Love it! And I can also understand your fear of glitter. I steer clear because I usually end up wearing it for the rest of the day. But it really does add some bling, so I use it anyway. And then I sparkle too! 😉
    Have a great day!

  5. Yay Patty I am so proud of you! 🙂 You do fabulous work! Just don’t worry about cleaning it up–let the glitter go where it wants and it will give back to you by sparkling in unexpected places!

  6. Your card looks great!! Dont be skeered of the glitter Patty!! LOL
Oh I LOVE the new Chunky Glitter! The Cosmo Glitter is fun too-but it IS so static-y… Ive used a swiffer wipe, our Embossing Buddy, etc.. and I cant get rid of the static. But otherwise, the colors are amazing and I love to use it!!
Most of the first page of my blog has glitter on almost everything!!

  7. I totally GET what you mean! I am the SAME way with glitter (and embossing powders!). Is it because they’re messy? Glad to hear I’m no the only stamper that doesn’t like to use glitter! Maybe we can get therapy together! LOL!

  8. Doesn’t that glitter just get everywhere? But I do have to admit – it’s great card! I am sure you still have glitter around! LOL
You have to admit it does add to a card – an every card around it! LOL

  10. I love the card but am right there with you on the glitter. I really don’t like using it. Before I became a demo, if I was at a workshop where there was glitter, I usually would just do my card without it. I haven’t even ordered the chunky glitter yet. I suppose I will in the future but I just can’t bring myself to do it.
