Holy Cow, and on a personal note…

Holy Cow Batman.. what happened… 14,205 blog hits YESTERDAY – in ONE DAY !!???  What in the world was going on when I was away at the eye dr… ??  🙂

Speaking of which.. not that you really care about this.. but.. it's soooooooo exciting for me so I just have to share…  yesterday afternoon I had an appointment with a contact lens specialist… and OH MY GOSH>>> after wearing glasses and/or contacts for the last 45 years but STILL living life in a blurry state all that time, today I can FINALLY I CAN REALLY SEE!!  I got the B&L Multi Focal contacts they've been advertising on TV, and OH MY GOSH>>> i can really see! I mean it!  If you haven't lived your life in a blur, you probably can't relate.. but I am so happy I could just cry because I can really really really SEE now for the first time in my life!!!!!!  These are like progressive trifocal glasses, but in a contact lens.

OK, enough of that..  Hope your day is wonderful!  I'm counting my blessings!

Patty

EDITED TO ADD 5-30-08 9:30am PST:

LOL… Typepad must be having issues… NOW it says I had 102,000+ blog hits on my birthday and 104,000+ the day before!!  LOL… totally not true.. so I really doubt I had 14,000+ hits yesterday.. but it's pretty funny to see that on my stats graph!

  1. So happy for you! That has to be so exciting – to be able to see clearly after years of “almost”! Enjoy looking at everything with new eyes! I know your day will be really blessed!

  2. There were some years (before I went to throw-aways) that I would get new contacts and put them and practically be in tears because I could see this incredible detail of leaves on trees again! I think I know how you feel, Patty!

  3. Thanx for sharing about the contacts. After having the lasic surgery years ago because I was legally blind (yes, I lived in a blurry state) and wearing contacts. So now it’s time to return to the contacts because I hate the reading glasses. Can you see well both close up and far away?

  4. Wow, I’m so happy for you! I had no idea your sight was so bad. I remember the first time I stepped outside with my new glasses when I was in my teens. I was astonished by how clear and sharp everything was. I’ve always wanted to wear contacts, but my eye doctor keeps saying they won’t work for me. =( I’m going to ask him about the B&L Multi Focal contacts, and if he poo-poos them I’m going to get a second opinion! ej

  5. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about with always seeing blurs! I tried lasix surgery a few years ago and was one of the 1% that had troubles so I have to put up with glasses/contacts. I will have to ask the eye doctor if these contacts are an option for me as I am getting older and my eyesight is getting worse. 🙁

  6. As an glasses/contact lense wearer I know all too well what you mean when you talk about going through life a little blurry. What a great feeling to be able to see finally…. my fondest wish is to wake up one day and know what time it is, without having to ask someone or picking up the clock and bringing it inches away from my face. I just want to open my eyes, look at the clock and know what time it is, just once, that is all I ask.

  7. Hey Patty,
I can totally relate! Soooo jealous! I wish I could have better vision but I’m pretty much stuck with what I got. Maybe I’ll have better luck in the future! LOL! Who knows what science will come up with.
    Happy Seeing LOL!

  8. Patty,
I just was at the eye doctor yesterday too!! I have been trying “mono” vision. One contact for distance, the other for near vision. I did not like it … very hard on driving and still needed “cheaters” for reading and cutting card stock. My doc ordered the multi lenses for me too! I should have them by Wed or Thurs., now I really can’t wait. Congrats on earning Hawaii!! Kathy
