Advisory Board Trip

Wow.. I have been in Utah for a week, and have spent the last 2 days in meetings with the Advisory Board, the Corporate Team and Stampin' Up! owner, Shelli Gardner at the headquarters in Riverton.  I am just overflowing with emotion and appreciation for this wonderful company and its leaders.  What a neat experience to hear from each Corporate Team member and learn about what their departments do at Stampin' Up!, and what an honor to be able to give our feedback and input!

Ups ken On the fun side…. here I am with UPS Ken (from Convention)… Brent brought UPS Ken into the meeting and we all cracked up!  I don't think I ever blogged about UPS Ken after Convention.. so a quick recap: There was a fun "commercial" shown on the big screens at Convention with Stampin' Up! Barbies and a UPS Ken, "advertising" to come to Convention next year!  Then a UPS man came on stage at Convention with a box, and said he had a delivery, then hundreds of UPS workers circulated throughout the audience and handed out FREE STAMP SETS to everyone!  We each got the Ronald McDonald House stamp set, as a gift from UPS for all the business Stampin' Up! gives them!  Anyway.. it was a hoot!

So.. it was really fun to see the real UPS Ken yesterday!

One of the highlights of the last 2 days for me was going through Brent's department and seeing the fabulously creative artists who design all our stamp sets, and seeing the mega-talented design artists who stamp the samples that go in our publications!  We also got to see how they decide what goes into the catalog on which page, etc., but if I told you any more than that, you'd have to shoot me… so…. my lips are sealed!

On the first day of meetings, we had lunch with Shelli and she gave us our Advisory Board rings.

After the first night of meetings, the AB had dinner with Shelli and a get together to get to know each other better.. it was a PJ party… here we are with Shelli in our matching PJ's:

Last night we had dinner at The Roof restaurant overlooking the Temple.  We ate with Shelli and the Corporate Team and were able to give them more feedback, as well as visit and get to know them better.  We took a group photo after dinner:

The view of the temple was stunning at dusk from the restaurant:

I am headed home later today… I have a downline meeting this weekend.. so you may not see me on my blog too much in the next day or 2.. but I'll try to post some of the great Christmas cards from our swap at the Founder's Circle Retreat last week.

Have a great day!

  1. Wow, so many amazing things you shared in this post!
Look at the gorgeous blue eyes on that UPS Ken! Does your husband know you’ve been hanging out with Ken while in Utah? ;P That Convention Barbie commercial was one of my favorite moment at Convention. I couldn’t get over all of the tiny details they had put in it, including the green shirt that matched the one sold at Convention!
I love the ring, too – and the box it came in!
Congrats again on making the AB – you’re going to have such a fabulous year, I’m sure!

  4. Patty, So excited about you and your journeys and the Advisory board. I am so glad you are a member. Your blog has inspired me so much this past year. I have grown and hope to one day hold that position as well. My goal is to at least grace the stage during the next convention. I will be trying my best to get some recruits and make the designated amount required to cruise. I would so much like to get to know you better. The report on the founder’s circle was so marvelous. You are such a dear for filling us all in on the adventures. Loved looking thorough the windows of your camera. It is nice to know that SU spared no expense in taking care of our bestest demonstrators. Again Thanks for all that you so unselfishly share with us, The ring is so beautiful and your smile tells us that all the work has paid off and you couldn’t be happier. God bless you this year as you make some important decisions for all of us. I know you will do very well.

Can I say how much I have enjoyed your adventures through your blog! Right now all of this is a dream for me (I have signed up to be a demo three months ago) and I am enjoying learning so much through people like yourself and my fabulous upline. Being on the advisory board with Stampin’ Up! is an honour and even more rewarding when you can go to work each day and have fun doing.

  9. Patty, Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with Stampin’Up! It’s almost like being with you in Utah. Your photos are wonderful to see with beautiful scenery and smiling faces. The pizza looked soooo good and the pink blanket so soft and warm. I am sure that the blanket was a welcome gift while you watched the movie as the desert cools down big time at night. You and all of the other ladies deserve to be treated like royality as you all have worked so hard to get where you are. I am in awe of all of you. Now its time for you to get back to reality, which is going to be really hard after being on cloud nine. Welcome home….Marlene

  10. Patty,
A big congratulations for all your hard work, especially this year. You must be on “Cloud 9” — first Founder’s Circle and then Advisory Board! I want to thank you so very much for keeping me “in the loop” on all that was happening on your combined trips. I’m Aly’s mom (and downline) and I was just dying to hear all about it. I even got to see her pictures on your blog! So a big thank you for all your posts and pictures, and congratulations on a fabulous Stampin’ Up! year!
