YEAH!! I finally did it.. after a few unsuccessful tries with Decor Elements (ah hem!) I did it! They really are easy once you know how to do it… when these first came out, I was burnishing the design too hard and I did not have any success getting them to peel off the backing sheet… so the secret is.. a lighter touch.. 🙂
This is an 11"x14" Shadow Box frame from Aaron Brothers. It was $16.99. The Christmasy twigs and potpourri were from the Dollar Store! Imagine that!
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
- Park Avenue Ornaments Decor Elements (med. red) 114823
- Jingle All the Way Decor Elements (med. red) 114708
- 1-1/4" Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain (113099)
- Glue Dots – mini - 103683
- Pop Up Glue Dots – 104183
The ornaments are applied to the backing piece of the frame, and the Jingle all the Way is on the glass. The potpourri and twig decorations are sandwiched in the shadow box.
Thanks to Stampin' Up! for giving us the Ornaments DE last month when we attended the Leadership Summit… that was the spark I needed to try these again! 🙂
Ya, I know.. it would be better if the striped ribbon were real red, … but… I'm going to live with it. 🙂
I love all the Decor Elements designs, but didn't really want to put a Christmas one on my wall for a limited time, so I decorated this frame and can put it up from year to year now!
Hi Patty, That Christmas picture is sooooo nice, what a beautiful job you did on it. You are so clever! I love doing those shadow box pictures, now I have another idea, Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work. A fan :),Mary
I love it! I really like the fact you can see the ornaments in the background!

Ooh Patty! Most fabulous! And honestly, I like the RHR striped ribbon! Real Red would be too matchy and not give dimension! (ha! only my opinion! hee hee) I LOVE this project! I havent doen ONE DE yet-skeered!
Beautiful! I really like the ribbon and your project is another masterpiece!
Absolutely gorgeous Patty
Oh Patty! This looks amazing. I have had both of those for the last 2 weeks…just waiting for Halloween to be over before getting them out and attempting my first try with the Decor Elements. Thanks for the tip on how to put them on.
Wow! This is awesome!
It is a beautiful way to use the decor elements. I really like your big bow and how your tacked it in place inside the frame. Love the flow!

Patty, I just love this picture…… I like the decor elements this way instead of putting them on the wall, my up up up line told us that they were not removable after two years, so I’m afraid to put them on my walls… But on a picture frame is so nice and it would make a great gift. thanks for sharing…..
That came out great! I love the ribbon – the pattern matches up so well that the color difference isn’t a problem. I love that it’s now a traditional piece from year to year!
Patty, thanks for the tip on the DE. I guess I, too, was burnishing too hard because I had a similar problem with the paper sticking to the vinyl. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong!! I will try a lighter touch the next time!
What a terrific project for the holidays.
What a lovely decoration. Great idea SU.

You continue to amaze me with our creativity! Thank you for sharing and can’t wait to make one of my own.
Wow! thanks for the fantastic idea of using this in a frame instead of the walls especially since it is seasonal. I love your idea! It came out sooooo beautiful! aloha, teri
I love all your creativity and I am so glad you are showing things on your blog.
Did you know that the Stampin up site (that you have a link to above) has been down for awhile? So anything else you want to show us that is new in decor elements I would love it!
This is gorgeous!!! I’m so cautious in use of ribbon and decor elements, etc. Thanks for showing me it’s okay to use my supplies – LOL!
Just when I thought you were already perfect you come along and do THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!! Thanks for sharing your always fantabulous art!
That is so beautiful!! What a great idea. I love that ribbon!
Oh I love it! My mom will go nuts! Thanks so much for sharing such a great idea!!!
This is really beautiful Patty! You always have such great projects! Thanks for sharing!
Patty, I think the ribbon adds a wonderful touch and it coordinates just fine! I just ordered more DE after seeing the beautiful projects you and others have made with them, which have inspired me! This frame came out great! What I like about this project is it’s portable, and everlasting and can be enjoyed for years to come…so it makes a great gift! I think folks need to be exposed to all the wonderful ways to use DE, and then they will eventually warm up to it-just like us! Thanks again for sharing…
Different spheres of people’s life take lots of time and money, thus why should we expend valuable time for critical essay writing? This would be easier to use some famous paper writing service to buy the term paper at, I guess.
