San Francisco Visit – long post! :)

We got the chance to play tourist in San Francisco TWICE this weekend.. too fun!!  We live about 25 miles from downtown and try to go a few times a year, but twice in a weekend was TOO fun!  We went over the 3 main bridges today that connect us to SF.  (usually we just go back and forth over one bridge).

So here are photos from both visits this weekend…

We were eating at the restaurant at the tip of this pier right in the center of the photo… Bubba Gumps is our favorite for family celebrations! The Bay Bridge is on either side of Treasure Island, you can see it on the left and right side of the photo.

We toured the SS Jeremiah O'Brien:

It is NOT made for TALL people!

Definitely NOT a Royal Caribbean ship – most rooms had 4 bunks!! … Yikes! LOL

I tried my hand at a couple "artsy" photos of Jason in SF:

OK, enough touristy photos… hope you enjoyed that little vacation to San Francisco!

Back to stampin' tomorrow…

  1. Patty: Congrats to Jason on his HS graduation! And Thank You for the beautiful pics of SF. Both my DH and myself enjoyed revisiting one of our all time favorite vacation spots. (Only thing missing was Spinnakers in Salsalito (sp????). Thanks for sharing your fabulous weekend with us and congrats again to Jason!

  5. Thanks so much for sharing the photos. I had family who lived in San Leandro, and we would do the tourist thing into San Fran when visiting. It has been years since I’ve been there. Makes me want to go back!! And yes, I left at least a piece of my heart in San Francisco!! :>)

  6. Great shots! Haven’t been to Frisco in a LONG time. Ah, Bubba Gumps. Have been to the one on the Big Island, the one on Maui, and the one in Long Beach (but that’s over an hour’s drive from here, next to the Aquarium of the Pacific). My fave is Mama’s Southern Fried Chicken (not a seafood fan) – yummy! Makes me wanna head down to Long Beach for dinner!

  7. Thank you so much for sharing your photos. We used to go down to SF a lot when my, now 18 year old, daughter was a baby. We sure do miss CA. These pictures are staying in my in-box to look at for a long time.

  8. Gosh, Patty! what awesome photos….we honeymooned in San Franciso just a few (ahem!) years ago! And I have visited several times since, it’s one of my very favorite cities ever! I loved the scenery photos and hearing about your day…especially enjoyed the view of Treasure Island from afar. I was in the Navy and managed to get up there a couple of times…there was just nothing to compare with Friday night “happy hour” at Treasure Island! lol! Yes, that was long before the honeymoon stage. 😉 But seriously, you didn’t go to Ghiradelli Square for ice cream? What’s up with that? I hope it’s still there!
Am looking forward to your post tomorrow with the What’s Up? die with photos…I played with it a wee bit last night but haven’t made anything with it yet. Jan

SF is my favorite city in the the world. Lucky for me our daughter lives in the city and we are fortunate to visit several times a year.
Thank you for your inspiration – I wouldn’t miss a day of your blog. You are most talented and generous.
Blessing to you and your dear family.

  11. Loved the pictures…thanks for sharing your “local vacation”. We should all do that more often…I live about 15min. from the French Quarter in New Orleans and haven’t been down there in at least two years! As a mom of two red heads (daughter 30 and son 28) I love your “artsy” pictures of your new graduate…congratulations to all of you!

  12. Oh Patty, I definitely enjoyed my trip, thru your blog, to SF. I’ve always wanted to go, so I’m glad you posted pictures of your trip there. Bubba Grumps: do they just do fried shrimp there? If I ever get out there, I must drop by and try it, but take a bunch of acid reducers, if it’s only fried. Beautiful pictures of the bay area. TFS I almost feel like I was there.

  13. I was stationed at Oakland Naval Hospital from 1989 to 1992 (I hear it’s closed now). But it was nice to see your photos, it brought back some good memories 🙂 It looks like you had a pretty clear day and a lot of fun. The Bay Area is just awesome, TFS!
