I thought it might be fun to photograph and share some of my favorite Christmas Tree ornaments… I love that our tree has no theme.. just anything fun, handmade things, colorful things.. all have meaning… things we've collected from trips or things I've made…. anyway.. just thought I'd share…
Each year I make an ornament with our son's photo on it… this was from 1994 when Jason bowled on a children's league.. this is what he did after each STRIKE ! 🙂
I made the following 2 ornaments in the 1980's when I was sooooooooooo into cross-stitching!
I have lots of snowmen and penguins on the tree…
We have about a dozen assorted animals like this… is was a darling series of stuffed creatures made by Hallmark in the mid-1980's. I love them all! I wish they'd make them again! {{hmmm who knows.. maybe they do… I never go in to a Hallmark store anymore!}}
And then I have a small collection of Starbucks Ornaments.. they are really cute:
And then, of course there is last year's favorite… my punched penguin pals..
This year I did our mantel totally NON traditional… :) but it's cute!
Beautiful ornaments and tree. Had to laugh about the Hallmark comment. I was a charter member of their Ornament Collector’s Club when it formed – back in the 1980’s, I think. And there were always other series that my husband and I just “had” to have. Well, after I got into stamping or thereabouts, we went “cold turkey” with the Hallmark ornaments. They were costing a fortune, not to mention the number we have. Some are now distributed around the house for year around display! LOL
Patty,
Thank you for the year around inspiration!
Merry Christmas Bennet Family!
Warmly,
Trinia
It’s a beautiful tree!!
Thanks for being you.
Merry Christmas
Marty
Your second cross stitch ornament could be recreated with punches I think. I actually really like the colors and the design of that ornament…I like symmetry. Merry Christmas!
Blessing for a Very Happy Healthy, and Prosperous New Year in 2010!
Thank you for sharing all that you do and love.♥
Patti, I love your tree! It looks just like mine! No theme, just sweet memories. And I too have not stepped foot in a Hallmark since I found the wonderful world of stamping and card making. It’s just something about giving something that truly came from your heart. I wish you and your family Christmas Merries and New Year Happies!
~Lorrie
I enjoyed your memoies! I have stepped into a Hallmark store since stamping my own cards…I just don’t buy the cards! I have the same reindeer stuffed animals..I got mine at burger king! Years ago! I used to have them all but now I am down to 3 or 4. Thanks for sharing!
My mom has those reindeer (Rhonda and Rodney?) from Hallmark and I think they are the cutest. They DO still make them. I just spotted some in there the other day. Was shopping for wrapping paper (not cards, ofcourse).
Thank you for a great idea! We have our first grandaughter and I was trying to decide what to do for ornaments for her. Handmade is the way to go. This year will be late but it is great to have a plan.
Hallmark!! I could NOT remember where those reindeer were from! I guess I could have put in some effort trying to find out online :), but some friends and I were just talking about them. We thought they were maybe from a fast food place. 🙂 lol. So thank you for clearing that up. My parents have them also. 🙂
When it comes to decorating, we are all perfectionists about our Christmas tree. Ultimately, this happens only once a year and the decorations are a sight to treasure
Love your tree full of meaning ful ornaments and the memories that go with them!
