California Roses in February

Happy Valentine's Day!!  Here is a cute Valentine's project and some Valentine Roses for you from my garden!

My friend Olive gave this to me… it has three "matchbox die" boxes (cut out with the Big Shot) inside this decorated cardstock cover… tooo cute!  Thanks, Olive!

I finally got around to pruning my roses last week… it's been pretty busy around here .. and I guess they never stopped blooming from last season… it really pains me to prune them when they are still blooming!!

January Roses

Oh well… now they are all pruned and they already have new beautiful red growth on them.. I have 16 rose bushes in my garden.. I never counted them before.. but now I know 🙂

Have a great Sunday !

  1. Okay, I just have to say what an inspiration you always are. I check your blog often, well, okay every day. But today was too much. Roses in February! It is -20 here. Yes, -20! I looked outside and we have so much snow that it feels like it will never melt! What a world we live in heh? It seems funny, we won’t see roses until maybe August. Well, thanks for all your inspiration. You are the best. Jackie

  2. We moved a year ago from our little ranch (we raised alpacas–wonderful animals!–) to a new house. No landscaping. At the ranch I had done a lot of flower gardens and we had some really nice rose bushes. I tried transplanting a few of them and don’t know if they “took” or not…spring will tell. Right now it’s snowing and your rose bush is a delight to look at.
Also, thank you for your web site.

  4. I always love your roses Patty. I live outside of Reno/Sparks, NV and always get aphids galore. Do you know what I can do to keep them away? Love your blog. You’re a true inspiration! Cheryl
