WELCOME to the JUNE 2010 Control Freaks Blog Tour !!!
You have probably joined me after visiting Jen's Blog, and you can click on the "next blog" link at the bottom of the post to continue on the tour 🙂
This month we are featuring "a sneak peek" of products from the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog, to be released on July 1. Please enjoy the samples and the tour !!
My first sample is a vintage style card made using the wonderful new Designer Paper called NEWSPRINT as a focal point on the tag. I stamped it with the new set called Artistic Etchings, which I think is going to be my new fave set! The new color I used is Cherry Cobbler…. OH MY GOSH>> YUMMMMY COLOR! 🙂 I also used the "love" quote from a new hostess set.
I made my own "background" on the card above, to look like an page from an old book, using My Digital Studio… stay tuned next week for details on how to do that.
NEXT up…
My poor old handstamped checkbook cover was soooooooooo old I decided I needed an UPGRADE!
So… SNEAK PEEK PRODUCTS TO THE RESCUE!
I used some new Greenhouse Gala DSP and the new stamp set "Friends Never Fade" plus some die cut and punched out flowers for my checkbook cover. I added a strip of new Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta ribbon for an accent.
For Flower Accent:
- Birds & Blooms die with Presto Patterns Paper, sponged with Tangerine Tango ink
- Boho Blossoms punch with Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery cardstock, sponged with Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi ink on edges.
- 1/8" Chocolate Chip brad for center
I think it turned out really pretty!
This was my old one – I have had it sooooooooooo long! … anyone recognize this set ? :) NO> It's NOT a Sneak Peek…
Sure brings back memories, doesn't it!!??? I think it was called Sketch It.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and ENJOY THE BLOG TOUR!

Love your card and checkbook cover! I laughed when I saw the “throw back” checkbook cover! I have a few of those around here myself!
The red card is my favorite.
Oh Patty, Patty, Patty..you did it again! GREAT projects! Okay…I remember that old set…it was one of my FAVORITES back then. It’s always so much fun to look back at our old stuff and see how far we have come!
hee I used to use Sketch It to make a super cute lion! Love your new checkbook cover!
Great card and lovely checkbook cover. Just redid my checkbook cover-it was stamped with one of the old leaf stamp sets when I was a SU customer not a demo!
These are yummy colors. I see you’re doing much more collage work than you used to. It suits you well.
Beautiful projects Patty.
I DO recognize that stamp set. I just came across a really old card front yesterday – a Christmas wreath made with that set.
It’s time for me to upgrade/update my checkbook cover, too. Yours is very cheery and upbeat!
Great checkbook cover! So colorful.

Thank You for sharing
Great projects! And how could we EVER forget Sketch it? I had a card where someone used the various stamps to make a voluptuous woman. I even remember seeing it at Leadership when it was in Salt Lake City the year that the Olympics were there!
And I have to say that I’m very impressed at how good the actual checkbook looks! Must be it doesn’t travel around with you in your purse… or you’re REALLY careful with it! 🙂
Gorgeous card, my friend!! You SOOO rock that MDS, baby!! You are a wizard, I swear!! And your checkbook cover made me giggle (the old one, that is … the new one is GAWJUS!)! I remember that set … didn’t ever get it, but I love how you have been carrying it with ya all this time!!
Wonderful, Patty! I love that you used MDS on part of your card. The checkbook cover is very striking and should lead to some stamping conversations as you use it! These are wonderful ideas! Thanks!
Love your projects, Patty! You always do the most wonderful work! Thanks for all the inspiration on your wonderful blog!
Mary
