Stamping with Cindee and Lisa each month is a real treat… it feeds my soul.
This week Cindee taught us a version of the Salt Technique with Watercolor Paper.
I took a few photos of our step by step process but I'm going to refer you to Cindee's blog for her instructions.
We used Stampin' Up! Aquapainters, reinker, watercolor paper, the new Ampersand Embossing Folder from the Occasions catalog, salt and the Sanding Block.
I struggled with getting a really good photo of this card.. it is so gorgeous in person and I'm not sure that it is coming across well in the photo. Trust me.. it's amazing!
After getting the watercolor paper wet with the Aqua Painter, we dropped reinker onto the the paper and then added salt. As the paper dries, the salt absorbs the color and leaves these amazing designs on the paper!
Then we brushed off the salt, and embossed it with the Ampersand embossing folder.
Then we sanded it lightly to bring out some highligts from the embossing folder.
You can see the full instructions on Cindee's blog.
Now it's your turn.. give this fun technique a try!

Beautiful card, Patty. Thanks for the link to Cindee.
I just did a class with my Stamp Club on coloring-regular crayons, watercolor crayons, regular colored pencils, watercolor pencils, blender pens, aqua painters, paper blending stumps, baby oil, and more. I’m anxious to try this technique. Thanks for sharing:)
I love this idea Patty and was wondering if it would be suitable for scrapbooking . Would the salt damage the photos ? Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
