I have a VIDEO TUTORIAL for you today… how to easily die cut the
Butterflies Thinlits (or other thinlits) from the new 2015 Occasions Catalog!
I was die cutting dozens of butterflies for a Stampin' Up! card swap and I needed a quick and easy way to get all the little pieces to come out of this intricate butterfly die… so I came up with this idea using ONE dryer sheet and ONE layer of waxed paper in the Big Shot Sandwich!

You can use this method with any intricate framelit or thinlit that has lots of little pieces to "poke out" … it will make your life so much easier!!

Thanks for the great tip on using the intricate dies. I can’t wait for Jan. 6th to get the new butterfly thinlits. In the meantime I will try that method on my other thinlits.
Yes, I caught Karen Burniston’s video in November also. But I love your quicker one-step technique. I’ve already tried it and it works pretty slick! My Big Shots are both calibrated tight so this is a plus. One trick I have found with the waxed paper is to place it back into the die and you can re-use the waxed paper at least three more times before having to toss it out. Recycle-Reuse-Reduce! 😉

Patti, thank you for this video and information. However, I am hesitant to even think about this beautiful thinlits and stamp set due to issues I have had when I purchased the Big Shot Die Sizzlits Large Paper Doily….it does not cut out all of the lace….SU even replaced the original with yet another…and I just tried it again this morning using your theory…dryer sheet and wax paper…. any suggestions or have others had issues with this particular die. Please let me know as I so admire this new Butterfly set. Dottie

Another amazing video, Patty – with a tip that will help prevent us all from pulling out our hair!! Who wants to see bald stampers? Great tip! The dryer sheets leave a film on the back of the cardstock…not sure if it’s the just the nature of using the dryer sheets. Any suggestions? I purchased cheap unscented dryer sheets.

This is great, now I won’t be afraid to use my dies anymore, it was so annoying trying to get the paper from the die and then poking the leftovers from the cut piece. Thank you so much for sharing!
