Sleigh Ride Christmas Tree Ornaments

When I stamped at Cindee’s house last month, she showed me how to make these great Christmas Tree ornaments using the Stampin UP! Sleigh Ride Thinlit dies… well, I guess it would be more accurate to say we muddled through it together, but she was kind enough to have all the supplies out for us to use and it was so much fun stamping with her!

Can I just say.. it’s REALLY difficult to photograph these ornaments with the reflection!, but I hope you enjoy these anyway! They are SO pretty in person!!

Stampin' UP! Sleigh Ride thinlint die Christmas Ornament for your tree! Use 1/2 of a plastic ornament and matching circle dies - I used a 4" circle for this one. Fill with "snow" and sequins, glitter, or beads. Trim with ribbon, sequin trim, glimmer paper, etc.

We made 2.. you can see them above and below.  They are really so pretty in person but very difficult to photograph! We bought the plastic ornaments that come in 2 pieces (2 halves) and we just used 1/2 of an ornament for each one.  You can find these at local craft stores this time of year.

See instructions below these photos for more info.

That snowman was part of an embellishment pack from the craft store.

When you measure your plastic ornament piece, you’ll find it really helpful to die cut all your circles with that size circle die first, then die cut each circle with the Sleigh Ride thinlits.

We cut the layers out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, Silver Glimmer paper and Shimmery White paper. You could use any colors of paper or glimmer paper or foil paper for these ornaments.  The scalloped backing piece is the largest die in the Stampin’ UP! Circle framelits package.

It’s so much easier to see before the plastic ornament is on top of it.. isn’t it so pretty!?  You could really leave it like this, add a greeting, ribbon, and hanger and it would be so pretty just like this!

The snowy background circles are from the Winter Wonderland paper pack #139588 and the Season of Cheer pack #139590,

After you layer all your pieces together, and add your sequins, glitter, beads, snow, etc., add adhesive around the perimeter and place your ornament over it, let dry.  You could use hot glue or Multipurpose Liquid glue.

Finish off your ornament with sequin trim, ribbon,  Christmas decor picks, or anything you like.

Thank you Cindee for showing me how to make these pretties!!
