Last month, during one of our Live Luv 2 Stamp Group events, I posted an "ask Patty" comment and let my demonstrators ask anything they wanted to know.. it was SO MUCH FUN and the questions were great!!
I wanted to pose the same question to you, my faithful customers and blog readers.. do you have a question for me? Something I can help you with?

Thanks for letting us ask away…
1. Do you truly stamp every single day? Or do you complete several projects at a time?
2. What has been your favorite Stamping Up stamp set and favorite ink color since you joined stamping up? I miss white confetti cardstock…
3. When will the stamp set you helped design, as part of your million dollar trip, be released for purchase? Can you tell us which one it is once it is in the catty?
4. How many cards would you say that you make per week?
5. Aside from stamping and gardening, what do you find fills the rest of your day?
Hi Patty,
I would love to see more videos on Project Life. I started using Project Life a couple of years ago, and love to see how other people use it. So could you do a few more Project Life videos?
Do you ever get discouraged if someone doesn’t like your gifts or cards?
What other flowers do you grow in your garden, or is just roses?
Were you nervous when you posted your first video on You Tube, and do you still get nervous when you do your videos? ( love your videos)
When in May is your birthday? Mine is the 22th and daughter’s the 11th.
I’m also playing catch up on PL albums and just got all of the pictures printed and in the pockets in 2 days for one baby book. I still need to stick the decorative cards in and journal. Do you have any journaling tips?I never know how to get started.
I would love to see techniques for using project life cards on traditional scrapbook layouts.
Thanks!
I would like to see more traditional scrapbook page layouts. I enjoy adding stamping and DSP to my pages. Thanks Patty.
I’ve been following you for a couple of years. Your years and success with SU is such an inspiration not to mention I love your cards! My question has to do with how you make your videos. What do you use to film your videos i.e. iPhone or video camera?
By the way, I’ll turn 56 in May as well on the 27th! I also share my birthday with my twin brother and my mother, who is no longer with us. Unfortunately she passed 12.24.14 after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. 🙁
Thank you Patty sharing your creativity and providing inspiration! 🙂
This will be fun to stay tuned to. My two questions are 1. What is your most favorite stamp set in the current catalog and why? And how do you store and organize your scraps?
Patty, do you keep a planner? This is a new project of mine, and I am looking for stamp sets to use in. Are there any you’d recommend?
Good morning Patty,,,, I have always done traditional scpabooking but layouts are a problem for me. Mine ALWAYS seem to be the same. Can you please show me some different layouts ? I am starting to do some Project Life because I’m sooo far behind. I would love to see more of your pages for Project Life. 2- I would LOVE to see more of the different folds in cardmaking, like the one you did yesterday and video’s showing how to do them. I really love the different folds and I really want to learn how to do them. 3- How many cards do you make a day and do you make them everyday? 4-I just wanted to say how much you are appreciated. You do so much for all of us. I feel like I have known you forever, even though we have never met. I love talking to you on the internet and I LOVE getting your cards. I keep every single one of them…….. Now the most important question, When is your BIRTHDAY in May??????? I would LOVE to send you a card on your birthday. Have a great weekend. Can you please post all the questions and answers on your blog???? I’ have seen lots of questions on here and would love to see your answers. Have a great weekend
I found your blog through the Control Freaks blog hop and have been visiting ever since. Congrats on your achievement. My questions are more organizational since my craft area is a mess. How do you store and organize all the little extras like buttons, doilies, scraps punches so that you can see what you have or need ( ha).
Love all of your ideas and videos.i love different cards, especially the neat folds ! Where do you get your ideas and how do you learn new techniques?
I am 62 in May!!on the 27th.
Helendale ,California.
You are the first blog I go to the first thing in the morning. I really appreciate you style of cardmaking and also the videos that go along with most of your projects.
What do you do with all the cards you make? Do you sell them? If not, would you consider that? I am a 73 year old cardmaker and I send out alot of cards.
Thanks again,
Connie

How do you attach vellum on top of a card?
Hi Patty! I have visited your blog for years, and truly enjoy it. Thank you for all of your wonderful tips and ideas and videos. I also love that you share your faith, your family, and your beautiful garden and flowers with us! My question is: Do you and your husband do all the gardening care (pulling weeds and grass, etc.) yourselves? If so, do you work in your flower beds every day or occasionally? Do your flowers bloom all year in your warm climate? Thanks and God Bless, Tina from Oklahoma
I enjoy visiting your blog everyday. Could you do a videos on what punche nest inside each other (circles/scallops,etc.) What punches do you use the most that every crafter should have in their supplies?
Hi Patty, I found your blog on you tube ,and have been enjoying your organizing and card videos. I would like to know how you make a you tube video.
Thanks for sharing, Georgi
I really struggle with masculine cards. I’d LOVE to see more ideas, samples of cards for men, teens and boys. Another question I have is how to use the small embossing folders like the dotted oval and the picture frame without leaving lines on the card itself. Thank you for the many ways you share your love for stamping on your blog.
C. Coffman from Akron, Ohio area, Feb. 27, 2016 @ 1:46 P.M.
what is your favorite SU color and also what is your least favorite ink color?
how many downline do you have?
thanks for giving your readers a chance to get to know you better!
Hi Patty,
I so enjoy your web and postings. My question is concerning the free stamps with Patty. Does that begin on 1/1/2016? I have only thought about the paper pumpkin and it sounds like presents. You don’t know what is in it until you unwrap it.
Thank you be being so helpful as a resource and support.

Hi Patty,
I had a question to ask you and maybe you can suggest something that is much simpler. My cousin joined the Air Force and is in Boot Camp at Lackland AFB. I’ve been doing my best to send a card out everyday. I guess I’m realizing that if the card is not somewhat made its taking a little to long to put together, Day by Day. My husband and I travel a lot because of our job. So, it’s difficult to carry around a lot of products. I’m sure I can just pick up cards here and there but it’s not the same. I enjoyed your project life tutorial and feel that may work but I need to receive them before I can send them out. I guess what I’m asking is how can I make a variety of cards for him that are not boring. I want him to look forward to receiving them when they arrive. I usually send a quote, a joke, and a flashback childhood moment. I’m trying to send all of this in one card. I’ve been doing it but am realizing I may be trying to built a house in two days. I realize that it does take a lot of time to do this. What can I do to make a variety of cards and minimize my time. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I would like to know where in the world you buy vellum tape? I found some on amazon, but would like to know why Stampin Up doesn’t carry it. I am wanting to make several cards with vellum but have no clue as to how to attach them.

Good afternoon Patty 🙂 I used to scrap book with girlfriends every week using Creative Memories our friend sold but they went out of business and so no more scrapping!!!! I am interested in Project Life but have no idea how to start and how to do it since I used 12×12 with paper then pictures and borders around them. Found you on a Blog Hop and have enjoyed seeing you on You Tube etc. I just started stamping with a friend and I feel like a Newbie but have done it for about 1 1/2 years!!!!
Thank you for letting us ask questions just wish we could all do it face to face 🙂
Enjoy your weekend, Sandy
I would love to see Project Life used in cards! I’d love to start doing that myself, but need inspiration! Thanks Patty!
Patty – I have been reading your blog for a number of years and enjoy your projects. You are really an inspiration. My question is when I go to make a card that I have seen somewhere and I do not have the same supplies, I find it difficult to come up with colors and paper that really look as good as the card I saw and it takes so long to put a card together, Sometimes it takes me all day to make one card. I have a lot of supplies, mostly Stampin Up, but I cannot buy everything and if I could, I would not have room for it. Can you give some suggestions on how to speed up finding substitute supplies to make the card. Thanks for all your inspiration and projects.
Linda D.
Always love your ideas. I would love some paper pumpkin sets! Theyvhaveveverythongbyou need in a box. Thank you for the opportunity!
HiPatty, I am from Australia and am wondering if at any time soooon we will be able to purchase paper pumpkin kits??? I see all your vids on these kits and feel really sad that we can’t access this, all my stash is Stampinup and I would love to add Paper pumpkin too Cheers Brenda Just xxx
Do you do home parties, or just a blog? If you do home parties, what is your best suggestion to hostesses for a successful party (fun AND a lot of guests)?
Patrice, Rothschild, WI
Hi Patty! First, I want to thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas. I learn something new at least once a week and apply your ideas and techniques often. I have a few questions:
What is your favorite color combo?
Do you have a rule of thumb for scrap sizes to keep?
Is there any possibility Stampin Up! will NOT retire Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Mellow Moss?
Thank you for this opportunity!

Hi Patty, Love your blog. It and your videos are so easy to follow. My question is for a friend. How do you unclog the fine tip glue pen? She claims she has always put the needle thing back in properly. So, I have been a demo for five years and have never got into the paper pumpkin thing. It just seemed like I spent enough money on stamps, why spend more every month on a kit? Do you think it is worth it? You probably have tons of stamps also! Thanks so much!
Thanks for all the card and organizational ideas! I bought one of the tool stacked turntables from Harbor Freight after you blogged about it! Love that I can reach so many different tools with a turn of a shelf! My question would be about how long does it take you to design a card and how many do you usually make? Thanks, Beth Mills from Dennysville, Maine
Hi Patty, If you could only buy one pack of Project Life cards, which set would you buy first? Thank you for sharing.
No questions!! Just wanted to let you know I have watched a lot of your videos and enjoyed each one. I have never tried Paper Pumpkin in hope s to be able to some day. Just love to watch you and other stampin’up demonstrators as you all have great ideas.

Hi Patty, thanks for inviting us to ask you some questions. What a fun idea! My question has to do with what to do with little extra supplies… Die cuts, punched flowers, bits of paper… I have the hardest time throwing anything away. Do you organize these useful bits and pieces? Extra Paper Pumpkin die cuts, etc? If so, how do you organize them… By color? In envelopes or boxes? Zip lock bags? Looking forward to your reply to all of these fun questions!

Hi! I love looking at your blog every day~ and even trying to CASE some of your projects~ but, I still have some practicing to do! My 2 questions are… How long does it take you to create a video~ from prep to filming to editing? AND… What do you do while you stamp~ listen to music, watch a season of Downton Abbey, or just listen to rubber pressing on paper? Have a great day! ~Evan, Rockford, IL
Patty,
I love your video’s and your instructions….
My question is What do you do with all the retired sets in the spring?
I love the sets, but, really can’t give many retired ones up.
I loved the Oct. paper pumpkin but, didn’t get it.
It has so many lovely poinsettias cards to make and I failed to get it.
This would be wonderful to be one of the winners.
Please add my name

Hi Patty, Two questions for you…Gel pens! Is there a way to keep them writing? I’ve bought several, use them once or twice and then they no longer work. I’m also wondering how you store your dsp. Do you keep it together in the design it comes in, or do you separate by color, season, print, etc? Thank you so much, Patty!
I would like to see more samples with Party Pants. I just love that set and need some ideas. I get your blog posts every morning and they are so informative. I love your videos. Keep them coming.
Hi Patty,
Been following your blog for some time and enjoy your enthusiasm for paper crafting. How much time do you spend per day/week on stamping projects?
Thanks for sparking our creativity!
Margaret, Manhattan, IL
I love seeing the different cards you make. Your videos are a great source of inspiration! How do you store your framelits, thinlits, edgelits, etc?
Sheila from Plano, Texas
where do you go for inspiration? what do you do when you hit a wall on creativity?
May is a great month to be born in!
Hi Patty,
I have enjoyed your company each day as you drop in to share the most wonderful designs, tips and videos with us. You have taught me so much. The other day while watching your scrapbooking videos, my question was how many pages will comfortably fit in a 12 X 12 album. I didn’t want to bother you, knowing that you already have enough to deal with in your business. Thank you for all you do for us, Patty. Good luck to all who are interested in your Paper Pumpkin. It really looks beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend.
Best wishes,
Karren

Hi Patty! Congrats on all your success! I love your blog, your pretty flowers, and how down to Earth you seem. My question is how to get started with Project Life to get caught up on years of life that I’d love to have in scrapbooks. I’m so far behind that it’s paralyzing! Thanks for all your tips and tricks, we appreciate them! Have a blessed day!!
— I would be interested in “fun fold” type card instructions and/or videos and would also new technique instruction and/or videos.
— How does Stampin Up choose the stamps/accessories that will be retired each year?
— Lovely as a Tree seems to be one of the oldest stamp sets that is still in the catalog? Are there other long running stamp sets still in the catalog?
Lots of great ideas posted before me. Looking forward to all the answers.
Hi Patty. As a demonstrator, I often wonder how much time other demos spend each
day at their SU Business. I often think thi s is a question in the mind of anyone thinking
about becoming a demonstrator. Can you share with us ho w much time you devote each day to your business and how many days? Thanks.
Barbara
First congratulations on your million dollar milestone! I enjoy your blog. I’d like to know what adhesive you use most in just general card making. I find my tape runner often doesn’t hold for long, even if I use a lot. I like the fast fuse but use it sparingly because of its expense. Green glue is often messy. What to do?? Thanks! Judy from Hillsdale, Michigan
Hi Patty, Always enjoy your post daily. You are so creative. How do you double emboss without leaving lines on the paper. And how do you leave a space in the middle of the paper and emboss around it.
As number of years stamp yet states….I’m 29 Again.
When is the free shipping that Stampin Up has yearly.
My favorite stamp set in the occasions catalog is the Bloomin’ Love bundle, what is your favorite? Also, how do you attach vellum without the adhesive showing? Thanks for all your ideas and tips.

First of all, I love reading your blogs and appreciate the inspiration that they gifts. Second, thank you for the opportunity to win a favorite PP kit. I’ve been hoarding mine been using it only for “special” people! ( I know that is so bad! )
1. Do you have sketches that you use to determine how to design a card when you decide that you need to make one? That is how I get stumped!!. Only been making cards for about five years
2. How do you conserve card stock when you make a card?
3. Do you use a website to find inspiration for a card design?
Thank you again for this opportunity!!
Hi Patty, I enjoy your blog post everyday. You enspire me? I have a couple of questions. How much time do you spend designing each day, and what is your favorite flower?
Have a great day today! Karilyn from Springdale, Ark.
Patty – Every morning, I go to four of my favorite stamping websites to start the day with a dose of inspiration. Your website is always the first I go to. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing such great designs and ideas with the stamping community. You are truly appreciated. My question is — where are some of the places that you draw your ideas from? Have a great Sunday! Laurie from Chapel Hill, NC.
Are you an online-only demo or do you hold in-person classes?
Your personality really shines through on your blog. You have a wonderful way of letting your readers get to know you, in addition to sharing your beautiful projects, and I know that is a big reason why I love coming to your site!
I was just wondering why Stampin Up has not started getting into cutting files of their wonerful stamps for our cutting machines? I know that Close to my heart sells CRICUT cartridges.
Hi, I forgot to leave my city and state- Green Bay, WI
Hi Patty,
My question is about the Wink Of Stella. Is there some way to refill the pens. Will Stampin Up be getting more colors for this pen . Do you have any tips to help me not use some much of it as I can not seem to regulate the flow of how much comes out of the pen when using it.
Thank you! Love your blogs!
Sue in Nashville TN
Hi Patty,
love to look for your blog and to watch the videos. Congrats to “your million” – what do you think: how many hours a day/ days a week did it take to come to this extraordinary level? And do you think there will be a chance to get the paper pumpkin kits in Europe? I am quite sad, that I see your examples and can not re-craft them. Well, I try to change the pattern (which sometimes works … lol), but of course that’s not the same.
Crafty greetings from Germany
Heike
Hi Patty,
I am from Germany and a few months ago I came across your website and since then enjoy your videos. I am new in crafting, started about two years ago. Within this short period I have collected quite a few stamp sets. If you are living here I would choose you as a demonstrator. I like to know from where you get your creative ideas and inspirations?
Thanks
Yasmin
Patty do you ever have a stamping block where you have no ideas for a card or project??? How do you get your inspiration to do something new-do you just start and see what comes up or do you look on Pinterest or the internet to inspire you??? I often go to my stamping area and just have no idea what to do so I need inspiration to get my creative juices flowing…. Thanks for all you do –you always come up with such neat ideas!!
Good morning Patty, this is a combination of question and comment. You share wonderful videos, and like most demonstrators, you share how you make your project,
which is great. Here is my question, why not share making the same project or even slightly different but with different colors and or different DSP? The difference could open up imagination inside us normal people. Thanks for letting me ask my question!
Hi patty! This is awesome . My question is…iF I sign up as a demo can I purchase paper pumpkin as part of my kit? Have a great day!
Oops forgot to add to my comment above ….

I love your garden so many varieties of plants. Love the colors makes everything happy. What is your favorite plants? You are so creative it shows in your cards, garden and home. I have only one question, if you were a demonstrator several years ago can you be a hobby demo? Sorry not many questions concerning Stampin Up. Love your blog, your videos are easy to follow. Thank you for all your hard work.
Patty, you have a great blog ! I visit every day and always learn something. I have trouble keeping the stamps on the clear blocks. Are you supposed to use the stamps mounted on red on the blocks oronly the clear stamps? Any suggestions would be helpful. Kathy in Connecticut.
Hi Patty, I loved the SU Blendabilities and had collected all that were available. I But I find that now that they are not current, I no longer use them. Hopefully SU will have another product to take their place. Also I have been stamping for 11 years now and have always been a Stampin Up customer. But the time has come that I need to say goodbye to some of the older stamps. Very hard to do, but I just don’t use them anymore, and I am running out of space. Do you know somewhere that would be good to donate some of them to?
Patti, Congrats on your million dollar mile stone. I check your blog every day. I get lots of ideas from them. Since SU only has markers and ink pads what do you use to color your projects? I wish SU would come out with colored pencils. I like to use them. Do you think that is something that might be coming? Do you own or use Copic markers? Do you hold workshops? Do you hire someone to help you with all of the things you do in your workroom? Thanks for giving this opportunity to ask questions. I enjoy all you share with us. Thank you.

Hi Patty,
My question is about stamp organization. I have a photo copy or stamped page of each set in alphabetical order in a large binder that I can flip through (sets are alphabetized on a shelf as well) What I am trying to figure out is a good/fast way to reference them to know what catagory or elements are in each set. Such as birthday, sympathy, butterflies, balloons, flowers with coordinating punches etc. What I keep coming up with is so complicated, it’s faster to just flip through my massive book. Any suggestions?
I just started Paper Pumpkin this month and got my first one Friday. Am a little disappointed in it, but watching for alternative cards to be created. You and other SU demonstrators are just sooooooo creative! I am SURE there will be other Great ideas for these cards. :)))
First of all I love your blog, it is so very informative.
What is one of your favorite stamp sets from each of the last 3 years annual catalog and do you have pictures of the cards you made with them?
What do you feel is the most versatile punch?
When making multiples of the same card what are your steps? Do you do a complete card or do the same step on each of the cards and then move on to the next step?
Lora Veneta OR
I purchased some wood mount stamps, but they all smell very musty, any clues on getting the smell out of stamps and wood? Thank
I would love to know what your all time favorite SU stamp set is?
Patty,
My question is what do you do with all the beautiful cards you make?
Thanks so much for the chance to win.
I so enjoy your blog, especially your videos. I would love to see more videos as you do such a great job of explaining everything you do!! I sometimes purchase a die, etc. and then get brain dead on what to create. Thanks for all you do!
Hi, Patty; I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to share your talents and imagination with us. Love your videos. Do you ever feel as if you are talking to yourself when you make a video?
Barbara Y. from Topeka, Kansas
Hi Patty:-) Love checking your blog daily to see what you have made! My challenge is, I stamp alone, there are no classes/evenings I can go to locally. My best stamping buddy moved over an hour away from here – she used to live next door – so now I have no-one to stamp with:-( I was thinking of starting up a casual stamp get together for a few people at my own home. For me it would have to be during the day as I have health issues that means I would not be able to do this at night. How do I get it going? I don’t actually know anyone who lives nearby that would come! I don’t want a houseful of strangers (I have issues around safety) , but a few people would be great. I would get them all to bring their own stamping stuff etc. I would only want people who were genuinely interested in stamping. I am not interested in sitting around gossiping!
I would be happy to make them a cup of tea though! I would also like people who are just beginning to stamp as we could all help them learn! How do I organise it so it works well? I want to keep it friendly and relaxed. Do I charge a small fee? How much?! Hope you can address this issue!
Thank you:-)

I always enjoy the tips you share Patty, how fun to be able to “ask Patty”! What do you do with all of your cards? What is your favorite Stampin’ Up tool or supply? What is your favorite non-Stampin’ Up tool or supply?
Hi Patty! I just discovered you a few weeks ago and have LOVED your videos and website. I LOVE your new Project Life area in your workroom. My two questions are: 1. Is there a way to watercolor on vellum? Or perhaps chalk and it stay on? 2. How many hours do you “work” a week? Kristi Snellville, GA
Hi youngster. Sorry…I couldn’t resist since you are a wee bit younger. LOL
I’m curious about your creative process. What percentage would you say you CASE as opposed to original creations? I’m in a bit of a rut lately so I’ve been CASEing more especially for classes and feeling guilty about it.
When creating original designs do you feel you have to knock it out of the park or do you relax the pressure and go with the flow however it turns out?
Do you have a particular Patty style you follow? Type of elements and so on?
Thanks Miss Patty for once again sharing your wisdom and generously sharing your stash. Last October’s kit is one of my all time favs!
I often have trouble getting my stamps to stick to the acrylic block…any suggestions?
Hi Patty, Fogot to leave my name, city and state. Mine always starts out with Good morning Patty and ends with Have a great day, lol,,,,,, Anyways, It’s mary Ann Ely, Waynesboro, Pa…..
Hello Patty, just want to share this great answer for weight, yes I know I have put on a bit of weght, I weighed 6lbs 8oz when born. Now isnt that the best answer? I love it. I also would like more pl ideas, either in card making or scrapbooking.TFS
As a top selling demonstrator, do you get each stamp set featured in the catalogs free from SU? I read your blog daily and several other SU demonstrators and it seems like you all have all of them? Just wondering? Love your blog and all the helpful ideas. Wish I had an upline like you.
Hi Patty,
Where will we be able to see your response to the great questions you’ve received? Looking forward to your replies!!! By the way, LOVE your blog and all the great work you have posted.
Now that you have reached the 1 Million dollars in sales, what is your next goal with Stampin’ Up that you hope to achieve.
First – thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas!!! (I love to read about your achievements and seeing your family photos)
Questions:
1- What is your favorite stamp set and why?
2-What is your favorite color.
3-What stamp set that has been retired do you miss the most?
I’m just starting to get into scrapbooking and I need page layout ideas. I’m not fond of the project life pages – I like to free form my pages.
Thanks again.
Do you still have the very first stamp you bought from s/u? and what was it?
Hello Patty
Can you tell me if the Paper Pumpkin Kit is avalaible for the French resident I am.

Hi Patty I really enjoy your videos and I learn alot from you. I have a question that I have looked for online and could not find a answer so I thought I would ask you. What colors of cardstock do you use the most. I am looking to stock my studio and I see several people are using just White and using colored pencils or markers to color the image. I do not want to invest in colors I want use that much. Maybe you can help,
Hi Patti,
I am a Stampin’ Up! Demo and I love getting your posts via email! Thank you so much for the tips, techniques and inspiration!
My recruiter passed away a couple years ago and my upline is no longer in S.U.
My question is regarding You Tube Videos. I would really like to expand this part of my business. I have a S.U. blog and webpage. I have done one video and posted it on You Tube. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJTooJfIgMi52nGwEKJ7yVw) It took 5 hours to upload! Our internet speeds vary in my neighborhood/area. I get internet via DSL. Anyway, I could use some help with how to edit and add text to the video, etc. And I haven’t figured out how to post to my blog (http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/ruthiewilliams/blog). Maybe this is too much to ask of someone that is not on your team…if so, can you direct me to who I could ask? I am handicapped so don’t get out much and hold classes in my home once a month.
Love your flowers!!!! I too love my flowers. I have 25 rose bushes in my back yard along with a variety of other flowers too.
Thanks so much for all you do and all you share! I follow you on Pinterest too. (https://www.pinterest.com/ruthiestamps/)
Blessings and hugs, Ruthie, Golden, Colorado
to clarify, how to post the videos to my blog. 😉 Thanks!
Hi Patty, I have been following you for a couple of years and have really enjoyed you’re black. My question is do you stamp every day and if so how many cards a day do you make? Also I like your garden and all your beautiful flowers and wonder how you find time to work out in the garden and doing card making. Do you do cards in morning and your garden in the afternoon or gardening in the morning and cards in the afternoon love to hear from you thank you for all your videos and card ideas.
