You may be thinking… WHAT blast from the past? This Stampin' Up! Jar of Haunts pumpkin is BRAND NEW!? Well, yes, you are right… but I got out my Prismacolor Pencils from my 1979 college art class to color them… now THAT'S a Blast from the Past, don't you think!? (contrary to popular belief, the world was not black and white back then… we did have color 🙂
I found my Prismacolor pencil set recently and thought… hmmm I really want to use these on something.. so I looked for an outline image and whohoooo! This fun new pumpkin was perfect! It's in the Jar of Haunts stamp set, on page 55 of the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog!! You can order this beginning Sept. 1st. #142247. Be sure to put it on your Shopping List! I stamped and colored 2 of the pumpkins on the Whisper White card front and left them as is, with the stamped stem/leaves on top, and the 3rd pumpkin was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut out, and I stamped the Jack o Lantern face and add it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, and then added the Halloween greeting.
The cute polkadot paper behind the pumpkin piece is from the Halloween Night Specialty designer series paper pack, found on page 51 of the new Holiday catalog. #142022
Did you notice the pretty background? It's the new Cable Knit embossing folder.. Oh my.. it's gorgeous! Did you see it in my Holiday catalog product review video?? You can CLICK HERE to see that part of the video! After that video I discovered that it's REALLY pretty to use the new sponge brayer on the embossed cardstock.. look a the beautiful dimension… actually, it's great with or without the brayered ink!
You'll find the Cable Knit embossing folder on page 13 of the 2016 Holiday catalog. #143537.
TIP: when adhering an embossed piece of cardstock, I highly recommend the Multipurpose glue.
Find the new Sponge Brayer is in the annual catalog, page 180, #141714.
I felt really rusty trying to remember how to use and blend the colored pencils.. but if you want to know how I colored the pumpkins, here is my step by step tutorial:
I really loved that wash background stamp 'behind' the pumpkins.. you'll find that stamp in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. It's on page 134 in the annual catalog, #137167. Before stamping it, I masked the pumpkins, and also stamped off the Cajun Craze ink so that it wouldn't be too dark.

Cute, cute, cute Patty.. I have the Prismacolored pencils and I love them. Easy to blend. Have a great day.
I love Prisma colored pencils. Wish Stampin Up would endorse them, too. This is what I let my six year old granddaughter color her cards with.
Ohhhh so pretty! I love the Prismacolor Pencils as well. I have some at home and here at my office desk for when I need some downtime. They are the perfect coloring tool!
I’m with Lin, I wish SU would endorse them as well. They are wonderful!
What an adorable card! And if i didn’t already love the Cable Knit Ef enough, I love it more with the sponge brayered ink!
I’ve been tempted to buy a set of colored pencils. Beautiful coloring on your card and I love the sponging on the cable!
Patty,
I really like this card. I think the cable sweater embossing folder is wonderful. I have added that to my wish list. I sure I will be placing another order soon. Great job.
