Penned and Painted Flower Cards

Yes, I know it's fall, and the weather is changing and all that jazz, but you know me.. I HAVE to stamp with flowers all year long!! :)  I am super excited to share this "one sheet wonder" Penned & Painted flower card idea with you!

Aren't these so pretty!?  I used a Bright color combo of black, white, Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush for these cards.

I started out by stamping a full 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of Whisper White with these pretty flowers and then cutting the sheet into 4×4 pieces and 4×3 pieces until my sheet was used up.   Each sheet will yield 6 pieces for 6 cards as shown in these photos.

Your Choice!

Use this stamp set with our without the outline image … I selected black for the outline but you could also create a more subtle look with a different outline color, OR don't use the outline at all!

Which one do you like best?  I love them both!

Look at all the pieces in this set!  You can use it in so many different ways.  I used 6 of the pieces for the flowers and leaves, plus the dot on the HOPE card below.

The striking black accents above are White Perfect Accents (#138416) colored with a black Sharpie marker!!

I mounted my stamped flower pieces onto folded Melon Mambo and Whisper White cards, and accented them with black and white or Cucumber Crush and white Designer papers from the big paper stacks on page 174 in the annual catalog.

Instead of stamped sentiments, I added die cut greetings from the Sunshine Wishes thinlit set (#141489).  Each one was die cut with Melon Mambo cardstock and added to the card with Multipurpose glue.

In keeping with the color scheme, I added either 1/8" Melon Mambo ribbon, or the 5/8" Cucumber Crush ribbon to each card.

I wanted my sunshine die cut to stand out on this card so I put it on top of a piece of vellum!  What a neat touch.. it turned out perfect!

  1. Wow, love the color combination! Thank you for sharing the template for your one sheet wonder – it’s nice to sit down and create your own “designer paper” and then make sure you use up every last scrap. I think I will make up some sets of cards based on this template to give out as gifts this year, thanks for the inspiration!!

  3. Love these cards. I love both versions, with and without the outline stamp, but the outline image sets apart this stamp set from all of the other 2 and 3 step sets as such a great way to get the pen-and-ink technique without having to actually use a pen.
Just got my set and am anxious to use it. TFS!
