I was strolling along on Pinterest getting some ideas for upcoming projects and I saw this adorable idea for Punch Art Pumpkin Pie by Kirsteen Gill! I knew I had to make this, BECAUSE my hubby's FAVORITE dessert in the world is Pumpkin Pie!! So one of these cards is for him!! The Stampin' UP! Layering Circle framelits are the perfect tool for this paper crafting project!
If you know me, you know that I don't particularly like to spend time in the kitchen.. so this is the ONLY way I'll be "making" any pumpkin pie this year 🙂
This is so much fun to make and super easy if you have the Amazing Layering Circle framelits from Stampin' Up! When I first saw the 3 sets of layering framelits in the catalog… I was thinking… hmmmm will I really use them? OH MY GOSH… I use the Layering Circles, the Layering Ovals and Layering Squares ALL THE TIME!! What a time saver and such an easy way to make perfect layers and scallops, too! See them all on page 193 in the current annual catalog. Need a catalog? Let me know!
I used the Layering Circle framelits (see them on page 193 of the current 2016 Stampin' Up! annual catalog, or HERE online), and the cardstock listed above in the photo to cut circles and the scalloped layer of "whipped cream". Truth be told, the entire pie would be covered with Cool Whip if it were my hubby's pie… but then you wouldn't see the pumpkin part.. so I had to make it like this. :) I sponged the Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake layer with Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede ink and my sponge daubers to give it some dimension. I also put Clear Wink of Stella on the whipped cream scallop, but it's probably hard to see in the photo.
You could leave the pie "whole" or cut a slice like I did with my paper snips. I put mine on a Silver Foil circle so that it might look like a pie tin.
For the top portion of my cards, I embossed a piece of Whisper White or Very Vanilla with the Pretty Paisleys embossing folder (pg 47 of the 2016 Holiday catalog or HERE online), and also decorated each card with patterned paper from the Petals & Paisleys specialty designer series paper pack, also on pg 47 or HERE in my ONLINE STORE.
I stamped the Give Thanks greeting from the Suite Seasons stamp set on pg 43 in the 2016 Holiday Catalog from Stampin' UP! in Cajun Craze ink, and tied some Kraft Rope around a couple of them (pg 13, #141996).
With that… have a wonderful day, being thankful for all of your blessings!!

Good morning Patty,,, I wanted to pop in before I head to work,,,,, yep working on Thanksgiving….. That’s the bad thing about working in retail,at least I only work till 12:00…. Your cards are soooooo ADORABLE… Who would have guessed to make pumpkin pies without being in the kitchen.LOL……. As for cooking, I HATE to cook , only because I feel like I make the same meals all the time,,, so I avoid the kitchen as much as possible…Thanks for sharing and have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving..
How Thankful am I? Getting an original Patty Bennett stamped card! =) I am SO lucky!
Hi Patty,
Just the most darling card. Making pie with paper and circles—–what a wonderful idea, and so perfect for this time of year. Hope Mr. Bennett is feasting on pumpkin pie, and that you are all having a wonderful day!! When I count my blessings, I count you twice. Thanks again for all you do for us.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Blessings and best wishes,
Karren
Love the pumpkin or sweet potato pie complete with the pie pan and whipped topping! So fun and cute. I will keep this in mind for next year. That one paper even reminds me of turkeys! I am definitely not hungry either!
Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Have a thankful rest of Thanksgiving and the long weekend.
Bahahaaaaa, your glasses…talk about being pie-eyed! :-O Thanks for sharing the cuteness 🙂
