Do you remember these High Tide Lighthouse cards I blogged a couple weeks ago?
Well, I just realized that I had a series of photos I forgot to share with you explaining how I made the vellum "light rays" at the top of the lighthouse!!
When I was sharing this idea with Cindee last week, she made THIS CARD, and it reminded me that I forgot to share this info with you, so, today I'm sharing the details for die cutting the vellum with the Sunburst die and coloring it with sponges to give the effect of light coming from the top of the lighthouse.
STEP 1 (above): Die cut a piece of Cardstock Vellum using the Sunburst Thinlit die
- Sunburst thinlit die, pg 193 Annual Stampin' UP! catalog, #140617
- Vellum cardstock, pg 175 Annual Stampin' Up! catalog, #101856
STEP 2 (below): Use a Stampin' Sponge and your choice of ink color to color the die cut "rays" of vellum. I used Daffodil Delight ink
- Daffodil Delight ink, #126944
- Stampin' Sponge, #141337
STEP 3 (above): Use paper snips to cut apart the light rays
- Paper Snips, #103579
STEP 4 (below): Attach the light rays to the card with glue dots. I tucked the ray under the Island Indigo layer of cardstock on my finished card.
- glue dots, #103683

Love the idea but I think I will ink the entire piece of vellum before cutting just to save a bit of time.
