I am glad you enjoyed the “Band Together” flower card I posted yesterday here. Today I have another pretty floral card colored with the Stampin’ Blends markers, but all in tones of blue, and I’ve also used the new Eyelet Lace embossing folder!
I combined Night of Navy, Seaside Spray and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends markers on this card, plus Old Olive for the stems. After stamping and coloring the Band Together flower, I fussy cut it with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Since I didn’t have any blue ribbon to match, I colored some of the Silver metallic edge white satin ribbon with my Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends marker!! See below…
The Eyelet Lace embossing folder was just the perfect touch of texture and fun for this card!! I matted it with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, then layered that onto a piece of Seaside Spray script pattern paper from the 2019 2021 In Color 6×6 paper stack. I debated on the color for the folded base card… Seaside Spray, Whisper White and Night of Navy all would have worked. So I ended up using Night of Navy.. what do you think?
For the Friend greeting, I used my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write marker on the stamp from my Rare Blessings stamp set to omit the other words on the stamp. I stamped it on a die cut oval from the Stitched Shape dies and layered it onto a Night of Navy scalloped oval from the Layering Oval dies. Night of Navy and Seaside Spray look so good together. Love the coloured ribbon and your colouring on the flower. Lovely card!
Thank you!! So glad you liked the combo!
Love flower cards and this one is especially beautiful! The night of navy base really makes the image pop, and coloring the ribbon is a very clever idea. Thanks for all your helpful ideas, Patty.
Thanks Annelie! So glad you liked the tips!
Amazing colors! I had noticed at a glance this set in the catalog and different cards and though ho hum. Well, this got my attention! I now want this set and I want to CASE it for sure! Love the coloring. I have that ribbon but have not colored it yet. Thanks for sharing your love of the craft with us.
Yay! thanks!! So happy you liked it!
Do you find it hard mailing cards with bows on it? I find them very bulky. Love the card and bow. Thanks for reminder about coloring the ribbon. I always forget that. I’m disappointed that Stampin Up doesn’t carry the variety of color ribbon they used to.
I love that we can make almost any color ribbon with the Blends! 🙂
For mailing, I take a 4×5-1/4″ piece of cardstock and put it on top of the card with the bow, or, emboss a piece of the same size and put it on top of the card inside the envelope.. it acts as a great way to cushion that extra bulk. Sometimes they do require extra postage though.. check with the Post Office. The seam binding and some other ribbons squish really flat thought.
your card is stunning!! the ribbon is a perfect color for everything about this card; thx. for sharing your talent.
Another beautiful card Patty and thanks for the colouring tip!
