The Stampin’ Up! Tropical Oasis Suite is one of my favorite collections of papercrafting products in the new 2020 January – June Mini Catalog! See all the Tropical Oasis product HERE. I created some special Tropical Oasis Pineapple cards for the members of my Luv 2 Stamp Group who earned the upcoming Incentive Trip to Maui, and I thought I’d share them with you! Card idea from Anna Helman!
The Timeless Tropical Bundle #153811, shown above, was used to create these colorful pineapple cards! I also used the Coastal Weave embossing folder #151503 for the layer behind the pineapple.
5 Tips to Make your Pineapple cards Amazing!
Tip1:
Before die cutting all the pineapple tops, I used a sponge brayer and 3 colors of green ink on my Pear Pizzazz cardstock, just randomly adding color to the cardstock. Then I used the tip of my green Stampin’ Blends markers to flick specks of color onto the cardstock. Check out the difference below with the plain cardstock vs the “distressed” green cardstock! I think it looks AMAZING!
Tip 2:
To add great colorful texture to the pineapples, follow the 4 steps listed below after die cutting the pineapple with the See a Silhouette designer paper #149443.
Tip 3:
Add even more texture and interest to your cards by using a layer of Grapefruit Grove cardstock, embossed with the Coastal Weave embossing folder #151503 and then lightly add ink to the raised areas with a sponge dauber #133773 and Grapefruit Grove ink #147142.
Tip 4:
Need a special color of ribbon to match your designer paper or papercrafting project? Color the White Seam Binding ribbon with a Stampin’ Blends marker!! I used Lovely Lipstick.
Tip 5:
I used Shaded Spruce Cardstock for the folded card base, and needed a lighter layer for the inside of the cards. I used the 4×6 Tropical Oasis Memories & More cards, cut to 4×5-1/4″ and layered them on the inside!
Supplies I used on my Pineapple Cards:
TIP! embellish the cards with the Tropical Oasis Trinkets #151253. I stamped the Rest & Relax greeting with Soft Suede ink on a Crumb Cake die cut scalloped rectangle from the Stitched so Sweetly dies #151690.
Above: Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon #149485
Below: I colored the White Seam Binding ribbon #151326 with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends marker #147028. I also die cut the flowers and the aloha from the In the Tropics dies with Lovely Lipstick cardstock to add to this card.
Hope you enjoyed these fun tropical card ideas!
