You may have noticed the reversible stamp images in some of the Stampin’ UP! sets over the past year. The Mountain Air stamp set is one of those reversible stamps! I’ve included a video for you at the bottom of this post so that you can see exactly how these reversible stamps work!
Let’s take a look at how this card was created with the Mountain Air bundle. I stamped these cards at a retreat I attended recently. Mel and Kurstan designed these cards.
Step 1 & 2: using the “back” side of the mountain stamp, ink the stamp in Balmy Blue and “stamp off” on the grid sheet, then stamp onto the Whisper White cardstock. Ink the stamp again in Balmy Blue and stamp full strength, offsetting the mountains (see below).
Step 3 & 4: Using the same stamp, ink it in Blueberry Bushel ink and stamp over the lighter mountains. (you can stamp this layer off first if you wish.. I didn’t). Next, clean the stamp, flip it over and stamp the “detailed mountain” image in Blueberry Bushel over the previously stamped mountains (below).
Step 5 & 6: Using the detailed side of the long tree/water stamp image, ink it in Garden Green ink and stamp as shown. Clean the stamp, flip it over to the reverse side, ink it in Garden Green, stamp off, and fill in the bottom 1/3 of the card to look like grass. YES, it looks a bit like a hot mess, but when you get the card all assembled and done, it looks amazing!
Step 7 & 8: Stamp the sun (moon) image in Daffodil Delight ink, using both the detailed side and back side of the stamp. Die cut 3 trees from the Majestic Mountains dies (in the bundle) and add to the card front as shown.
To finish this card, die cut a Blueberry Bushel “frame” using the Stitched Rectangle dies and layer over the stamped scene. Attach to a Thick Whisper White card base.
An alternative to using lots of colors with this stamp set is to create a monochromatic card such as the one below.
