Cute DIY Dollar Store Easter Basket Treat

DIY Easter Treat Basket from the Dollar Store! Stampin' UP! Welcome Easter stamp set colored with Stampin Blends markers. by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

Do you ever wander the aisles of the Dollar Store, Dollar Tree or 99 cent store?  Once in awhile I do and I always find something fun!  I picked up this adorable plastic container with a handle and a lid, printed with colorful Easter Eggs, and I decorated it with stamped / colored animals from the Welcome Easter stamp set.   The shreddie was also $1, which makes for a pretty economical DIY Easter project!!

I stamped each of the Welcome Easter animals 4 times on Whisper White cardstock with my Memento Black ink pad, and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends.  In addition to placing the animals around the container, I used one of the bunnies on the tag.   The die cut images on the tag are from the Stitched so Sweetly dies and the Sending Flowers die set.  (Sending Flowers dies limited time offer ends soon!!).

Below: I used the Label me Fancy punch to punch a slot in the top of the tag – then added my Daffodil Delight Ruched ribbon through the slot.  The grass under the bunny is from the Ladybugs Dies set – another limited time edition offer!

I colored the Welcome Easter Chickie with these Stampin’ Blends:  Mango Melody Combo, Daffodil Delight Combo, and blended with the Color Lifter, shown below.  All Stampin’ Blends (and all Stampin’ Up! supplies) are available in my online store – click any of the product photo links at the bottom of this post to go right to my online store.

The bunny image was colored with 4 different sets of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers… I couldn’t decide… I was actually going to color him brown, but then decided on all different colors!!!

The So Very Vellum (limited time offer Sale-a-Bration gift) was used for the flowers. I punched them with the Small Bloom Punch (Sale-a-Bration item) and then added Glitter Enamel Dots to the flower centers.

The lamb was just kept very simple since the other Welcome Easter critters were pretty colorful.  I colored his face with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, blended with the Color lifter.  Added a little LIght Smoky Slate to the fur, and colored his bow (her bow???) with Light Granny Apple Green.

Tips:

  • I always “swatch” my colors on my grid paper before starting my project so I can see which colors I think will work best together.
  • Use Tear & Tape to attach the critters to the container
  • Use Glue Dots to attach punched flowers
  • Always color with your grid sheet under your project so the Stampin’ Blends don’t bleed onto your countertop
  • Use Paper Snips to fussy cut the critters
