I made these Tropical Oasis Memories & More cards MONTHS ago, when the Brown StazOn ink pad was first introduced in the Stampin’ Up! Jan-June 2020 catalog. I wanted to share my Watercolor Tips for the Hibiscus stamp in the Timeless Tropical bundle. THEN, the ink pad was so popular it sold out super quickly and is STILL on backorder! The GOOD news is that the Saddle Brown StazOn ink pad is featured in the new catalog on page 147, #151508!!! It may not be available until mid-June but since the Memories and More cards and the brown cards and envelopes shown below ARE RETIRING on June 2nd, I thought I better go ahead and blog this!
I stamped the hibiscus stamp from the Timeless Tropical bundle on Watercolor paper with my Saddle Brown StazOn ink pad, then colored the images with my Watercolor Pencils and Watercolor Pencils 2, and blended with water.
Using several colors of watercolor pencils on each flower and leaf then blending with water gives a much more realistic appearance than just using one color.
You can see all the swatches of the different pinks and corals below that I used on these flowers, and all the greens for the leaves.

RETIRING!
REMINDER: the Memories & More Tropical Oasis cards I used below, and the Magnolia Lane Memories & More (base) cards and envelopes ARE RETIRING!
After die cutting the hibiscus flower and leaves, I layered the 4×6 Tropical Oasis cards and stickers onto the Magnolia Lane base cards and also used some Tropical Oasis Designer Paper to line the envelopes!

I’ve forgotten about my watercolor pencils. I definitely will have to pull them out next time I make a card. So happy I purchased this bundle.
