Blue Sunflower Instructions:

  1. Stamp the Celebrate Sunflower image with Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock
  2. Use the Blender Pen to pull the ink from the center toward the outside
  3. Blend a little of the ink on the petals that are “under” another petal for added depth
  4. Blend the ink in the center of the flower with the Blender Pen
  5. Stamp leaves with any green ink you’d like (I recommend Shaded Spruce or Just Jade) and color in lightly with the Blender Pen

Use the Jar of Flowers sunflower stamp and Seaside Spray ink to stamp around the perimeter of the white panel for a beautiful floral background. Stampin' Up! card by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

Sunflower Background Instructions:

  1.  Cut Whisper White cardstock panel to desired size.  Mine is 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
  2. Ink the sunflower image from the Jar of Flowers set, with Seaside Spray ink.
  3. Stamp around the perimeter of the white panel as shown above

Stamp greeting on the stitched scalloped rectangle, add to background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add flower and leaves, and some Artistry Bloom sequins to finish the card!

  1. Good morning Patty,
I absolutely love your card……I love to make my own background…. Do you think it would look ok using the Celebrate Sunflowers instead of the Jar of Flowers? I have an order to send you and don’t want to add anymore to my order….. I love the blue sunflower…..Have a great day
I love how you are using the blender pens

  2. I have sort of taken a mini-vacation from stamping…and your blue sunflower has inspired me. I bought the stamp and am going to play around with the sunflower stamp and see if I can come up with a renewed interest for stamping.

  3. You renewed my interest in stamping with your blue sunflower. I ordered it and will play around with it and hopefully find my way back to stamping again.

  4. I enjoyed your video of direct to rubber video. It was very helpful. I had trouble having enough ink on my blender. Is your ink pad really moist?
I am thinking my pad may be too dry. After I did the technique and stamped my card my blender pen was not picking up much ink from the stamped card.

I am anxious to try todays’ technique also.

    • Hi Lora, yes, it could be that you need to reink your pad. I reink mine about once a month. I am also using Stampin’ UP! Whisper White cardstock. Try reinking your pad, let it sit about 15 minutes, then try this technique again, keep me posted.
