This Fun Fold Diorama Card is not only beautiful but super fun to open! (and open, and close and open and close). This card is dimensional when you open it but folds totally flat to mail.. it’s a great design and features the Prized Peony bundle and the Peony Garden designer paper from Stampin’ UP!
Above: check out the amazing 3D dimension of this Diorama card when it’s open!
I created this card while participating in a live online class this past weekend. I really enjoy the online classes from Leticia and Christy!
The base of this diorama card is Merry Merlot cardstock, a color that I don’t use enough. Isn’t it gorgeous!? I stamped the peony flower with Memento Black ink and colored it with a sponge dauber and Merry Merlot ink, then added some darker shading with the dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends marker, and colored the leaves with my Just Jade Stampin’ Blends markers. Once colored, I spritzed the flower with some shimmer mist, created with Champagne Shimmer Paint, mixed with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer.
Above & Below: Color the Peony Garden designer paper for the front of this card quickly and easily. Use your sponge dauber and Merry Merlot ink to sponge color on the flowers. I added color to the leaves with my Just Jade Stampin’ Blends markers.
After coloring the designer paper I spritzed it with the shimmer paint (described above). Use the scalloped die in the Prized Peony bundle to scallop the edge of the designer paper to match the edge of the card front.
Cutting and Scoring dimensions:
These are the dimensions provided by Leticia and Christy for the Diorama card.
Die cut a scalloped square in the right panel of the card before folding it up.
I used Tear & Tape on the flap that gets sealed shut, but you can use whatever adhesive you’d like. When you flatten the right side of the card and peel off the release paper, flip the left flap over to the right, seal shut, and you’ll have the 3D effect as you open it back up!!

My card was created just a little differently than the class instructions, and put a Scalloped Rectangle die cut from the Stitched so Sweetly dies on the front. I stamped it with the peony flower in Merry Merlot ink and added the Hello Beautiful from the Butterfly Gala set.
I hope you enjoyed this fun fold idea! Shop for your supplies below, thank you for your order!!

Love your design. Do you know what size envelope you could use and the estimated cost of postage?
It fits in the Medium Stampin’ Up! standard size envelope linked above, and in the US is just the regular forever stamp postage. nothing extra.
Hi Patty, everything about your card is beautiful. That stamp is just so luscious and your colors are so rich
