How fun are these Have a Hoot owls? I hope you like them! I have a great die cutting & stamping tip for you if you are trying to make this type of card with stamped images inside the 3 die cut openings!
Die Cutting Tip!
First you’ll die cut the layer with the die that creates the 3 openings. The die is in the Have a Hoot bundle #155208. In this case, it’s die cut with Whisper White cardstock.
Next, cut the blue layer 1/4″ smaller, then layer them together, and just put the 2 layers back into your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine WITHOUT a die. (use the same sandwich as you would for die cutting though). This will leave an impression on the blue cardstock (see below) and you’ll be able to stamp your images in the correct place, then put the white layer on top and voila! Perfect Placement!!! yay!!!
What do you think!? I thought it was just the best die cutting & stamping tip for this die!! I created this card during an online class with Tammy & Tricia last weekend, and I shared this idea with the class (via Zoom). They liked it too!
You can stamp ANY IMAGES in the 3 windows… It doesn’t have to be the owls… how about the Freezin Fun cuties, or Flight of Fancy, or the Ghoulish Goodies?
Leave me a comment on this post and tell me which stamp set you would use with this fun die!

As I stamped the 3 owl images onto the blue cardstock, I also stamped them onto a Whisper White scrap with my Memento black pad. I colored the images on the white cardstock with my Stampin’ Blends markers, and die cut them to place on the Balmy Blue cardstock. I didn’t want the owls to be blue. 🙂 It’s layered onto a piece of Plaid Tidings designer paper and onto a top fold Thick Whisper White card base. Blue rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone pack finished off this fun Christmas Card Idea!
