Thankful for Family

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Thanksgiving memories 2004 Mom's 75th birthday

As it happened many times during her life, Thanksgiving 2004 was also my mom’s birthday. That year it was a milestone birthday, her 75th!

I made a scrapbook album for her celebrating our family, and memories of her life.

And, so it is this year, Thanksgiving also falls on her birthday, and she is celebrating her 91st birthday in Heaven.

I will always treasure every single memory of Thanksgiving and celebrating her birthday with our family.  I am so thankful for God’s gift of family: amazing parents, a wonderful brother and his family, my husband’s family, and of course my dear husband and our amazing son!

So, on this Thanksgiving day, I pray for blessings on you and your family.  Like us, you may be celebrating alone and not able to visit family this year.  I pray for you all and that we can all be mindful of our many blessings, even through this crazy year of 2020.

Hugs to you all,

  2. Mother’s are special. It’s my birthday that sometimes falls on Thanksgiving and they were always spent with my mom and dad. May you and your little family have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.

  4. Hello Patty! My Mother’s birthday is November 27th … so, like your Mom, she often celebrated it on Thanksgiving day. Tomorrow, Mother will spend her first birthday in heaven where she is safely in her Savior’s arms. Mother passed away at age 91 this past February. I am so thankful that she did not have to go through all the chaos that’s occurred in 2020 … and I know she and I will be together for eternity. I am so thankful for crafting friends like you (even though we’ve never met in person …. I enjoy your blog and your videos so much). Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  5. Like you, my mom’s birthday often fell on Thanksgiving – Nov. 22nd. She is in Heaven also. I was just thinking today about how she celebrated her birthday not by pampering herself but by spending hours making a truly incredible feast for our family. All homemade pies, rolls, turkey & dressing. I only wish I had had more time to do the same for her.

  8. Nice to see your family, Patty. Yes family is so important. And yes we are spending it alone and I dont like it. Just have to remember what we do have to be thankful for. Its so nice now with modern technology we can see our loved ones on our phones with video. Pat

  9. Patty, you are so blessed that your family loves each other. I am grateful that we enjoy each other in my family but so aware of the estrangement that is in so many families. So very sad. We need to appreciate, spend time with and love the ones God gives us because someday He will want them back.
