Above/Below: Use the Stampin’ Up! Blending Brush and the Calypso Coral ink pad to lightly swirl ink onto the True Love flowers, then fussy cut the flowers with your Paper Snips to add to your cards.
This card background features a different True Love designer paper background, colored with a Blending Brush and the Mango Melody ink pad. Leaves are colored with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends markers.
I stamped the greeting and heart using my Calypso Coral ink pad, a die cut from the Hippo & Friends Dies and stamps from the Lots of Hearts set.
This True Love card features an ombre background created with a piece of polkadot True Love designer paper, 3 ink pad colors and the Blending Brushes. Be sure to watch the video at the bottom of this post to see how to create this ombre effect background!
I used my Mango Melody ink pad, blending brushes and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends markers to color these roses from the True Love DSP.
Using Paper Snips, cut out the flowers and leaves you’d like to use on your card. DESIGN TIP!! use the cut out flowers at the edge of the paper to tuck below other full flowers so that you don’t waste that part of the paper design!!
Twine Tip! I used the white Baker’s Twine from the Snail Mail twine combo pack, and colored it with my Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends. I bet you could also color it with the Blending Brush and the Mango ink pad!
Blending Brush Stand from Stamp-n-Storage: mine is on order, I don’t have it yet, but THIS IS THE ONE I ordered.

I love looking at your beautiful cards. I watched a video a short time ago from you. You called the card a Book Fold Card. I am sure you started with a 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 base. It was a nice card and I wanted to make some. I have looked on your site and in Pintrest and can not find the tutorial. If you would be so kind as to send me the link or directions I would so appreciate it. My address is sigmamom9@gmail.com. My name is Judy Miller and I am the house director at the Alpha Xi Delta house at Purdue University. 2-6-2021
Hi Judy, I typed book fold into the search bar on my blog and this was the first one that came up.. is this what you are looking for: https://www.pattystamps.com/2020/10/basket-of-blooms-fun-fold-video-tutorial.html
Great video tutorial for using the blending brushes. Loved it.
Thank you Diana!!
Patty this is not about your recent ideas but hope you can help me. I tried using my new stamps and they are not picking up ink. Some of my pads may be dry but not all since I recenty used them. I know these are the newer stamps and need help.
Also loved seeing you using the Valentine cards your own way. I also did this….cut the cards in half, did some heart embossing for bottom layer, punched out some hearts and ended up with 8 cute cards. Amazed myself when I decided to do this. Do you have a video about using the new die and emboss machine? Thanks.
Hi Mary, Have you reinked your pads recently? I reink mine about once a month. Let me know if they are still not inking well. Please email me and we can continue the discussion there.
