Today we are chatting about the “lady in the window” cards, and tomorrow I’ll have 2 more cards for you, then Monday 2 more!!!
Let’s chat about the Architectural Renovation!
Yes, that’s what I called it.. I gave her a little architectural renovation and extended the window and her view out to a beautiful scene with palm trees waving in the breeze on a sunny day! I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker and a drafting triangle to draw the addition to the window frame, and used the Paradise Palms set for the stamping.
Above Left: after adding the extended window / Above Right: the stamp image right out of the set, stamped on a Scalloped Contour die cut with Memento Black ink.
In addition to the extended window, I added a piece of woodgrain paper from the In Good Taste designer paper pack so that her window seat was wider as well! The coral layer over the Thick Basic White card base is from the Artfully Composed pack. You could also use just Calypso Coral cardstock.
Disclaimer.. I may have used LOTS of Stampin’ Blends colors on this card. If you’ve followed me for long, you KNOW I love color and love mixing LOTS of Stampin’ Blends colors on one card! For all the colors I used, see the product photos at the bottom of this post. In addition to the colors currently available, I also used the 10 new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends, available to customers in February, see THIS post.
What do you think about the birthday card idea I created? I think it’s pretty cool!
2nd Idea for the Lady in the Window
My 2nd card for you today features the same stamp set: In the Moment, but I stamped it on a die cut and added 2 of the patterns from the Bloom Where you are Planted designer paper pack!
The card base is Evening Evergreen, and I have a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of woodgrain paper from the Bloom Where you are Planted pack, and I also fussy cut out 2 of the potted plants from the same Designer Paper pack to add to this card!
Rather than color the windowpanes dark, or wood colored, I left them white for a nice crisp look! In contrast, I colored her pants, shirt and hair a little darker for a fun pop of dramatic color! All colors I used are in the product photos at the bottom of this post. The die cut is from the Seasonal Labels dies.
4 More In the Moment Cards coming Sunday and Monday!

I just found you and I watched this video but didn’t see where you showed how to do the Pool Party sky on the “cruise ship lady”. Is it somewhere else? I watched the whole thing waiting for it at the end??
I don’t think I did each card start to finish.. just tips. I used the Pool Party blends to create the sky.
