Right before going live last Friday I started to watercolor these tulips on the Abigail Rose paper. I LOVED how they turned out and right after our video I made this card!!
Look at the amazing difference below… the sheet of tulip paper right out of the pack vs coloring the tulips with watercolor pencils!! Oh my.. I think it’s gorgeous!
If you missed the watercolor pencil video tutorial, I encourage you to watch it. I think you’ll pick up some tips for coloring these amazing outline floral images.
Abigail Rose designer paper available online! All other products available in my online store too.. just click the product photos at the bottom of this post, please.
I used the Scalloped Contours dies to die cut this piece of watercolored designer paper with the tulips, then added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock between the die cut layer and the Soft Suede base card.
Brushed Brass Butterflies and the Natural Woven ribbon were the perfect finishing touches on this card. The beautiful birthday greeting is from the Potted Geraniums set, stamped on a die cut from the Mini Pocket envelope dies. You could use any greeting and die cut label/tag you have.

What a beautiful card! The water coloring brought the paper to life. That combination, and the die used to cut the paper, are perfect together.
Thank you Susan!!
Dear Patty,
I just saw the watercolor of the tulips from the Abigail Rose collection you did and IT IS GORGEOUS!
You’re a magician with these watercolor projects & it’s great to hear folks who don’t think they ‘are creative’ learn from you that they can indeed create beautiful works of art. You’re great with the things you teach us to do. You’re so in the right place. A wonderful example of ‘Do what you love. Love what you do.’ A tremendous example for those who want to spend literally decades doing what they love & being paid to do it! Becoming a demonstrator is just the beginning of making dreams come true!
We’re glad 27 years ago you decided to become a Stampin’ Up demonstrator.
Here’s to 27 more! Thanks so very much.
Sincerely,
M-
