Greatest Journey Flower Card Ideas – video replay

Stampin' Blends coloring with the Greatest Journey bundle and Cheerful Basket bundle. Floral Cards by Patty Bennett

OOOOH I love how these beautiful floral cards turned out!!  They are “Patty Cards” with “Patty Colors” 🙂

I used the flower images from the Greatest Journey bundle colored with Stampin’ Blends, and then I paired it with the basket from the Cheerful Basket bundle!

If you missed the video yesterday, please watch the replay at the bottom of this post!

Above & Below:  I decided to pair up the floral images with Orchid Oasis cardstock, designer paper and In Color glimmer paper.  Doesn’t it just make these flowers pop!?

After coloring the flowers, use the coordinating die in the bundle and paper snips to create separate floral pieces to build the pretty basket of flowers!

I used the Palm dies for the grass, die cutting them from the Awash in Beauty paper.  For added dimension, I used my Blending Brush and Granny Apple Green ink to add a bit more color.

Die cut grass and use Blending Brushes to add extra color. Palms dies (for grass) and Awash in Beauty paper.

I added several pieces of the grass, nestled the basket into it, then trimmed off the parts that hung over the Rain or Shine cloud panel.

Add die cut grass to Rain or Shine cloud paper for the background of the card.

  2. Patty, while watching the replay on You Tube I noticed that you started with the lighter colors first and then added bits of the darker colors. I do the opposite and that could be why my colored images never look as good as yours. I’m going to try your way. I definitely need more practice. Thanks also for the info on the natural tone blends. I have some of them in my wish list and wasn’t sure which were the lighter and which were the darkest. The visual in the newsletter really helps.

    • HI Sue.. I don’t think there is a right or wrong way… but I do like to lay down the light color first so that the dark colors have a place to “blend” instead of soak into the paper first.
I have a series of 25 Stampin’ Blends tutorials… and I’m sure I’ve shared all different ways over the 25 videos… I hope as you experiment you’ll find a method you love!
