  10. i LOVE USEING BLENDING BRUSHES IT IS SO MUCH FUN. DO THE MASKING IS A LITTLE HARDER I DO IT WITH REGULAR PAPER AND TAPE IT DOWN WITH EITHER WASH TAPE ARE PAINTER TAPE.

  17. I have not used the masks. However, I have used the blender brushes. I believe SU has the best blenders. They have soft bristles and the handle is flexible for a smooth control. I haven’t used the smaller ones. I must give them a try!

  23. I have used blending brushes fairly often and love them. I have quite an assortment of masks now but rarely remember to use them. I am going to take them out where I can see them when I craft so I can give them a go next time I make a card!

    • Yes I have used the masking technique on cards before. It’s a good way to get dimension/background without another layer of cardstock. I’ve only used my homemade masks from a die cut instead of the cutout piece. The reusable masks would be a handy addition to have for my cardmaking.

  132. I love using blender brushes. I use them when i want a nice color gradient look on my cards.
    I find they work great on decorative masks as well. I have been stamping since 1986 and the changes in the tools we have makes card making so much fun.

  135. Hi Patty, Yes I have tried ink blending but struggle. I use the Recollection ink brush (Michaels) so I do think “they” are the problem – not the user! (Hehe) You make it look so easy, so I would love to find out by using the higher quality SU brushes.

    • I have tried blending and as long as I have a coach beside me and demonstrating, I do reasonably well. I should try following along with a video. I have not used masks. Now I’m thinking that maybe the brushes I’m using are the problem. I should try the SU brushes!

  246. I love the softer look the blending brushes give. I was sad when sponges went away but learned to used the daubers instead. I think the blending brushes are an improvement over both of them. I especially liked the way you gave the zinnia some depth and distinction by using the blending brush on the bottom layer to give some shadow!

  265. I’m a pretty big fan of using blending brushes. I use them and love the look. Masking things off… that’s a different story. I think I’ve only done it once. I should do it I’m sure my cards would look better.

  266. I just started to blend. I try to watch YouTube videos when you are doing it particularly or anyone else. It’s fun. I recently got SU blending brushes. They are amazing. I have bought a mask from spring catalog but haven’t put it to use yet!

  278. I have used the Blending Brushes and love them! I usually use them for backgrounds, especially sunsets, but also to color die cuts and stamped images. I have not used them with masks but you make me want to try. Congratulations on your huge milestone and thank you for sharing so much wonderful information and so many fantastic projects!
