Wow friends.. I am in love with this Nature’s Paintings Watercolor kit!! You know I love flowers, and I love to color, (and I TRY to do my best at watercoloring), so when you put the 2 together.. I’m in my happy place! This kit comes with a 24 page coloring book of printed images on watercolor paper, plus a set of watercolor pencils in Stampin’ Up! colors, and a water painter!

After coloring the poppies with red, orange and yellow watercolor pencils, I wanted to color the background blue, but, I knew if I tried the water painter, I’d end up making the poppies bleed into the blue sky, so I used my Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend marker for the sky. I added some shadows with the Dark Balmy Blue maker. (all of these supplies are available by clicking the product photos at the bottom of this post.

The first image I colored was the poinsettia, then I tried the sunflower. I loved shading with the Early Espresso brown pencil to create depth & dimension after coloring with the yellow and orange pencils.

The jury is out… these could be magnolias, they could be a tulip tree or they could be a lotus flower…. but regardless, I decided to try out pinks and purples on them. I did add the Melon Mambo pencil from assortment 1.

For 3 of the cards, I die cut the finished piece with the largest deckled rectangle die and layered them on to colored cardstock. I also added a simple greeting to each card.

  2. I’m with a lot of others. Video please, because I didn’t know wether
to put the colored pencil to paper, put water to paper first or, wet
pencil tip with water then to paper. The directions never said how you
apply the color to the paper. Thanking you in advance

  3. I love this coloring book kit. A video would be great. My favorite is the poinsettia, sunflower and I like the ranaunculous flower (I think that is one of the flowers in the kit and I am sure I spelled it wrong too).

  5. Love, love, love all of your painted cards! Can’t pick a fave. And, I would love to see a video tutorial for each one of them. I know that would be a lot of work for you. I guess I’m going to have to get the kit and try it myself. Won’t be as beautiful as yours, though.

  9. Love your talented watercolour painting. I appreciate your sharing your colouring hints and colours used. I would really appreciate it if you could do the whole collection, as I live in Australia I have no idea what some of the drawings represent or the colours to use. Thank you for your inspiring article.

  11. At first glance when I first viewed the examples of water color book finished products by you Patty, I thought they were 3-D. Figured out it was the white of the paper you had as a tip. OH this was the answer to my thoughts. This is probably one of the best tips! Thank you so much.
