Damask Embossing Folder & Ink Blending

Two handmade greeting cards with blue-green floral designs and layered paper elements. Both cards display the message, "It's a wonderful day to celebrate you," in teal text. Ink pads and crafting tools are visible beside the cards on a gridded work surface. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

You may remember this embossing technique from a video I shared with you on May 2nd (missed it? watch here). I used Stampin’ Up! Lost Lagoon Two Tone cardstock and embossed it with the new Damask embossing folder, then brushed Secret Sea ink over the raised area with my Blending Brush!

A hand holds a teal-green embossed cardstock with a damask design. Text on the card reads, “Lost Lagoon Two Tone cardstock, embossed” and “ink added with blending brush.” Craft supplies and ink pad are visible in the background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

What do you think? Doesn’t that make such a wonderful difference?

A handmade card with a textured teal background, a white tag reading “It’s a wonderful day to celebrate you,” a bow, and rhinestones is shown. A blending brush, black ink pad, and an arrow labeled “Ink added with blending brush” are also visible. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

I used a new Stampin’ Up! stamp and die bundle called Paper Tags to create the focal point for my Damask Embossing folder cards. The Paper Tags bundle is in the Online Exclusive brochure, and you can find it online here.

2 of the 3 handmade cards I’m sharing today also feature a beautiful floral die cut embellishment – found in the Fully Flowering Ephemera pack. This keeps selling out because it’s so popular. It came back in stock so I wanted to share these projects, but it’s in Low Inventory status as I type this!

Two handmade greeting cards with blue-green floral designs and leaves sit on a gridded surface. Each has a sentiment saying "It's a wonderful day to celebrate." Two blue Stampin’ Up! ink pads and a PattyStamps.com label are nearby. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Card Making Tip:

I always add a lighter color of cardstock inside a dark card base, and recently have found that it’s extra fun to partially emboss that inside layer!

A hand holds a black card open to reveal a white inner panel with raised embossed dots. Bold black text on the panel reads, "Give the inside a little love with some embossing!" A blue arrow points to the embossed area. Craft supplies and tools are visible in the background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

  2. Very pretty card! I love the technique of embossing and adding color with a blending brush. The result is stunning. Partially embossing the inside piece is the perfect finishing touch.
