As you may have heard me mention during my New Stampin’ UP! In Color product review video (replay at the bottom of this post), the Stampin’ Up! Cloud Cover full size ink pad was not released during the demonstrator preorder period (March to May 2025).
The full size Cloud Cover ink pad will not be available to customers, either. However, here are some solutions and more details for you!

Cloud Cover Update & Options
Color Shifted
- The Cloud Cover ink has experienced a rare chemical reaction with the firm foam in the regular size Stampin’ UP! ink pads, and the color has changed (shifted) outside of the tolerance standards Stampin’ Up! allows.
These Cloud Cover products are OK:
- The Cloud Cover ink is OK in the ink refill, the Stampin’ Blends markers, the Stampin’ Write markers, the cardstock, the 6×6 paper stack and in a felt Stampin’ Spot.
Your Options:
- Customer options: purchase the uninked spots and Cloud Cover ink refill (see below) and add ink to your spot to use as a “mini” ink pad, or, purchase the Stampin’ Spot assortment found on page 33 in the NEW catalog (#166716), which includes a Cloud Cover ink spot.
Available starting May 6, 2025

Replay: Stampin’ UP! In Color Review
Disclaimer:
You may see some demonstrators using the full size ink pad in the future. Stampin’ Up! has decided to allow demonstrators to purchase the current supply of full size pads that are already in the warehouse, WITH THE KNOWLEDGE that the color may not be the true Cloud Cover color.
I will be buying the uninked spots and the ink refill and making my own Cloud Cover spot to use when I want to stamp or create with Cloud Cover ink.

Thanks for sharing this information.
I love the technique!!!! So many different uses can come from a simple bachground!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful cards!!!! I love the new in colors!!!
Will they be decreasing the cost of the in-color stamp pad bundle or do we have to purchase the rest of them separately? Thanks!
There will not be a bundle option for the new in color ink pads.
Are the stampin spots going to be individual or sets of a certain quantity?
Hi Barbara, the spots are sold as shown above in a set of 6. They are also sold preinked in a set of 5 on pg 33. I don’t see you on my customer list so I have not mailed you a catalog, but if you have a demonstrator, you can get a catalog from him/her and see the inked set on pg 33.
Patty, thank you SO much for the update regarding the issues with the Cloud Cover inkpads. Like you, I will be purchasing uninked spots and the ink refill.
Thank you Patty, for this helpful info, always love your videos and all the fantastic tips you give, you are truly a talented lady
so kind of you Glenda.. thank you!!
Patty, what about purchasing the unlinked Stampin pad (#147277) and use ink refill.
It is a foam pad so the same reaction is likely to happen.
The chemical reaction doesn’t happen with the ink spot?
No, as I mentioned in the post above, the spot is felt and does not have the same reaction as the foam pads.
Thank you Patty for the GOOD NEWS!
Could ypu purchase the uninked white craft pad and refill it with the cloud reinker so you would have a full size pad? I know the white craft ink comes with the pad, you would end up with the white craft refill.
It is a foam pad so the same reaction is likely to happen.
Hi Patty, This is a great tip to use the refill and the ink spots to make an ink pad to use on our stamps. LOVE IT!! Thank you so much.
