Tips & Secrets for my Coneflowers

  1. Die cut lots of colors of flowers to play with
  2. Use the Two Tone cardstock for die cutting the flowers, leaves & stems (see this tip in action in the video)
  3. Use a blending brush and ink to add yet more depth and color
  4. Layer several die cut pieces for each flower for tons of dimension
  5. Curl the petals with the bone folder for even more dimension!

You have so many options when creating the coneflower. 1 layer, 2 layers, extra die cut layers.. the most I used was 4 layers.. each one is gorgeous!

Black text says “Look at the amazing layers!!” “Happy Birthday” is on a white strip at the bottom, with “Patty Bennett” watermark in the corner. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

There is no right or wrong way to make the flowers, but I found 3 layers was my favorite. Stamping the flower center on the top layer in Pecan Pie was also a favorite tip.

Three die-cut layers of Two Tone cardstock form parts of a cone flower on a grid craft mat: an orange petal layer, a yellow-orange petal layer, and an orange cone center. Another secret for creating these cards is ink blending on the Irresistible Designs Specialty paper. This paper is 12×12 and includes 3 designs in one pack. I cut a whole pack to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and used them for the backgrounds of my Coneflower cards.
