I’ve included the replay of my weekly Friday live video at the bottom of this post for you!
Color Combos for Coneflower cards are endless!
Below are the Stampin’ UP! ink colors I used for stamping and ink blending with blending brushes. I used most of the same colors of Two Tone cardstock as well. You can see all of the colors and supplies at the bottom of this post – simply click any of the product photos to go right to my online Stampin’ Up! store and shop anytime. Tips & Secrets for my Coneflowers
- Die cut lots of colors of flowers to play with
- Use the Two Tone cardstock for die cutting the flowers, leaves & stems (see this tip in action in the video)
- Use a blending brush and ink to add yet more depth and color
- Layer several die cut pieces for each flower for tons of dimension
- Curl the petals with the bone folder for even more dimension!

You have so many options when creating the coneflower. 1 layer, 2 layers, extra die cut layers.. the most I used was 4 layers.. each one is gorgeous!

There is no right or wrong way to make the flowers, but I found 3 layers was my favorite. Stamping the flower center on the top layer in Pecan Pie was also a favorite tip.

Another secret for creating these cards is ink blending on the Irresistible Designs Specialty paper. This paper is 12×12 and includes 3 designs in one pack. I cut a whole pack to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and used them for the backgrounds of my Coneflower cards.

I did an online search to see what colors coneflowers are in nature… pretty much any color you can think of can be found in nature, so I just played with all the colors I love!

Above: You can add some shading with a Stampin’ Blends marker to the flower center, then stamp over it with the flower center in Pecan Pie ink or another shade of brown.

The greetings I used on my cards are from the More Messages bundle. I keep a card candy bowl on my desk and grab greetings as I need them.

Do you have a favorite?
I need to know.. do you have a favorite color combo for the coneflower? One I’ve shared or one you have tried?
