I hope my weekly card making / papercrafting video was helpful yesterday in showing you how I selected the Stampin’ Up! colors to use for each of the Charming Day cards based on the colors in the Floral Charms designer paper.

Stampin’ Blends color combos

I used the colors in each piece of Floral Charm dsp to inspire the Stampin’ Blends color combos for my Charming Day Cards. You can use any of the color suggestions on the back of the package or in the online store description, I selected the colors that my eye saw in each of the 4 floral patterns.

A workspace displays floral card art, six Stampin’ Blends markers in pink, orange, green, and blue shades, and swatches labeled: Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, and Pretty Peacock. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Below you can see all 12 patterns in the Floral Charm DSP pack, and I circled the 4 that I used for my cards today.

A display of eight vertical strips of patterned paper featuring various floral designs in pastel and vibrant colors. The central label reads “Stampin’ Up! FLORAL CHARM DSP #166125 www.pattystamps.com/shop.” Blue ovals highlight select patterns. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)
A hand holds a handmade card with a floral theme. The card features pink and purple flowers, green leaves, and layered patterned paper. A small banner reads "YOU CAN DO ANYTHING." The card is signed “Patty Bennett,” with her website printed below. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Above/Below: I used a more dramatic color combo for this pattern. I also layered my Floral Charm paper onto a piece of patterned paper from the Country Woods pack. A 1/2 circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies in Petunia Pop helps separate the flowers from the busy pattern.

Above/Below: I used the other half of the Petunia Pop Spotlight on Nature circle die on this card – a little unexpected maybe, but I think it’s beautiful with this pattern!

  1. Your cards are beautiful! The video and color swatch cards are perfect, especially for coloring newbies like me. Thank you.

  2. I thought you were going to to do some fussy cutting on an individual flower to create some dimension on the “going rouge” group. Would be curious to see what would have happened if you had stamped images on Basic Beige to use on the Basic Beige card base/mat.
