Did you know I Love Squirrels?

You may not know this about me… but I love squirrels and I feed my backyard squirrel buddies every day. I used to think they were trained.. but now I know.. they have ME trained.. they come to the back sliding glass door (next to my office desk) and stand up and look for me until I come to the door with their daily treats 🙂

So there was NO doubt about it.. as soon as I saw this cute Fluffy Squirrel stamp set, I had to buy it!

A handmade greeting card featuring two squirrels facing each other, holding an acorn, with "Thankful for you" above them. Perfect for anyone who would say “I Love Squirrels.” Leafy background, green border, and “Patty Bennett PattyStamps.com” at the bottom. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

I stamped the outline portion in Memento Black ink and the solid portion with Pecan Pie ink from Stampin’ Up!.

Fun Fall Background

I used the new Etched Autumn background stamp to create the fall feeling in the background of my card.

Three pieces of paper with a leaf pattern in yellow, green, and orange inks are shown. Rubber stamp, ink pads (Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Granny Apple Green), and crafting tools are nearby. Text explains the stamping and inking process used. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

As noted above, after inking the background stamp with my full size Daffodil Delight ink pad, I randomly added ink with my two ink spots. You can get ink spots by purchasing one of the 2 spot assortments, using the spots in your kits or Paper Pumpkin kits, or, inking your own by buying uninked spots and ink refills. I just find it really helpful to use my ink spots for more control.

The Etched Autumn stamp is part of the September Online Exclusive Release (find it on page 9) – if you haven’t downloaded your copy, be sure to do that now!

A hand holds two Stampin’ Up! stamp sets: "Etched Autumn" with leaves and acorns, and "Fluffy Squirrel" with squirrel images and phrases. In the background is a handmade card featuring two squirrels exchanging an acorn, surrounded by autumn leaves. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Here are a few of our backyard buddies.. Jason and I love to take photos of them.

A brown and orange squirrel sits upright on a wooden fence, holding and eating food in its front paws. The background shows blurred green foliage and part of a house with windows. Sunlight brightens the squirrel’s fur and the scene overall. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

Did you know.. when it’s hot, or even just when they are tired, they “sploot”? 🙂 It’s so cute.. they do this on the deck and on the top rail of the fence.

A squirrel lies flat on a wooden deck with its legs stretched out behind and in front, appearing relaxed. Its bushy tail extends upward, and sunlight casts shadows on the decking. A few scattered red leaves are visible nearby. Text credits Jason Bennett. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)
A fluffy brown and orange squirrel rests on a tree branch, looking toward the camera with alert, curious eyes. Its tail curls beside its body. Autumn leaves in shades of orange and red surround the squirrel, creating a warm, seasonal background. To read more, visit Patty Stamps (pattystamps.com)

  1. Love your Squirrel Card!
When we lived up North in RI…Hubby and I also fed our squirrels! Hubby named
them all! We saw 6 generations of squirrels.
We bought unsalted roasted peanuts and feed them.
We moved South, because of our health, we couldn’t shovel snow anymore.
We now live in NC. We get snow, but it’s in the low inches, not in feet!
Now we can just let it melt away!
